    L85 Sight Bug

    Hi all,

Firstly, loving the game - reminds me of the Mecenaries game from 2005 but with much better graphics, better mission design and a fantastic level of detail (anybody else notice that the magazines in your vest changed based on equipped weapon? Equip a shotgun and the shells appear. Glorious!).

I played the closed and open betas as co-op but have so far kept to single player on the full game so I can spend some time finding all the Easter eggs and listening to the radio change as I complete missions. I've almost completed the story missions and am yet to come across any game breaking bugs and all of the little niggly ones seem to have already been reported - except for the strange sight issue with the L85.

When selecting certain sights (e.g. TA31H) on the L85 they appear in the correct position in the gunsmith (just in front of the cocking handle) but when I leave gunsmith it appears on top of the rail at the front of the weapon - too far forward to be of any use to anyone. I know it's not a major issue given that it's just a cosmetic issue and they work fine (I've just been using the digital sight instead as it bugged me) but thought it should be added to the list.

Otherwise, keep up the good work! I know the games been taking some heat for certain design decisions (e.g. not being able to move bodies, the AI, etc.) but on balance I think they were all the right call - for whatever that is truly worth on the internet. Personally I'm looking forward to the rest of year 1 and certainly don't regret my Gold Edition pre-purchase.

    -

[Btw. If it helps anyone, I've found that going into the inventory and selecting a different drone, then reselecting my old one seems to allow me the use the drone/binos when they glitch and can't be activated... seems better than fast travelling or dying!]

Was just about to make this post myself, mate! Absolutely annoyed at the fact that they ****ed up the SA80. I legit flew straight to the place where the L85 was just to unlock it, and then to find out that the sight system is in the wrong place for every sight is annoying, it looks so ugly. I am REALLY hoping Ubisoft fix this ASAP, completely ruins the immersion for me.

Glad it wasn't just me. Nobody else had mentioned it so I thought I was going mad!

In the meantime, you might want to try using the Digital Sight if it's bugging you. It stays in the correct spot and doesn't look too different to a SUSAT if you squint a bit.

Have you also noticed that your character takes his hand off the trigger to **** it? First time I saw it it bugged me... then I remembered that there is no elegant way to **** an SA80 and let them have the creative licence.

Fair one... but only because you have to clean an L85 every 5 minutes and it's a pain to do it. Assuming I'm not going to have to clean it, like on a computer game, I'd much rather have an SA80A2 than an M4. Although, that said it would help the game last longer if Nomad had to stripe his gat down and clean it... would help with realism and could keep the game going for years!
