It's official ... no longer even in the bargain bin, they cannot give the game away. Like the lemon on the used car lot that no one wants even with free tax and insurance.
But 1.6 was a huge success. Yeah right. Just like the SoTG on Year 2 content. Where are those lifeboats again?
Read the Ubi website they are giving the game away for free. Supposedly a trial but like anyone is going to buy it after taking it for a test run.Originally Posted by Art.Van.Delay Go to original post
The whole "free" thing is pretty misleading. Yeah, it's a demo. 6 hours of level 8, whichever comes first.
Problem is, neither of those options actually gives you a real representation of what the game actually is. Can you even enter the DZ at level 8? Would you want to without access to any of your full skill loadouts? I suppose you could spam survival matches, maybe?
As far as demos or free trials go, this is pretty bad. All it really lets you do is see how the game performs from a technical standpoints. Benchmark.
I got the game for free.. It came with the video card that came with my computer I got last year..
Didn't even know The Division existed until I got bored one day and decided to check it out..
I thought it was just one of those cheap free online games that you see all over the place.. I had no idea it was gonna be this cool and still be playing it today..
Pretty awesome for free,I think..
Also got the season pass since I was already ahead in the deal..lol
You can barely scratch the surface of this game after 6 hours, or by reaching level 8, which ever comes first.Originally Posted by Harborfront Go to original post
That is all the free trial is offering...a taster, a sample.
Even if the whole game were being given away free I fail to see how that is indicative of a "lemon".
The Division was a commercial success and the hundreds, or thousands in many cases, of hours we've all sunk into the game is testament to it doing something right, despite the annoyance and frustration of many early adaptors.
I myself advocated recently for a free DLC giveaway to boost player numbers and engender some goodwill, though a lot of people on the forums felt that would be unfair to them having paid full price...which I can respect.
So if the whole game were being given away free there would have been a lot of threads arguing the merits or unfairness of it.
In closing, you can always play something else if you find this game such a constant source of disappointment...after all, our free time is precious and gaming should be fun, should it not?
Are they sure this won't meltdown the servers? I mean another 10 players will tip them over the edge, it may even be an experiment to see how many complaints they can create from a free trial or even a competition to see who can reach Mike and Delta the most times? or maybe see who can die most times from the Lag?
Actually a pretty slick move on Ubi's part. The game is great from lev1 to end game and that LZ unlike post end game, is busier than a cow's arse in fly season, so to be cut off at level 8 would really tempt you to buy the game and continue.Originally Posted by SeekerKillsRule Go to original post
