I think that experience and tournaments now show that Warden definitely needs to be toned down. He simply has so many 50-50s that it is almost unplayable against a very capable player. He is at the very top of every win percentages and you need to do something about it. This is just my opinion, people may not agree, but I simply had to say it. I played against wardens so many times, know exactly what they can do, and I have the lowest win ratio against them. If you GB them when they miss the shoulder bash, they can tack out of it, if you dash and try a slash (with classes that can do that) he can GB you and you CAN"T counter it, if you stay he gets a free double side strike. Only if the Warden player makes a mistake or runs out of stamina you can get out of it, or only some of the classes (1 or 2) that have extremely fast light attacks where they need to time them exactly when the shoulder bash starts. Now add to that the Wardens ridiculously fast zone attack, top counter attack ant extremely fast top light attack. What more do I need to say? Oh, yes, has a great health pool? COME ON. Compare the Warden to a Kensei for example? Kensei can do his mix-ups after a GB, and he solely has to rely on parrying in order to get them against higher level players. And even after that it is not so difficult to counter his moves. Plus you nerfed Kensei's top heavy jump attack after a side dash. I hope I am not the only one thinking this about the Wardens...if I am, ok, leave them like that.
You guys made a fantastic game, I am having so much fun, but the balance between the heroes needs to be better. Simply look at statistics and work based on those.
I wholeheartedly agree. I feel this character has been overlooked in terms of balance. When a warden uses his vortex all you can do is dodge, but if you dodge he can gb you leading into a free heavy or light combo, not to mention if he hits you with the charge its a free light combo. Its rediculous and in this situation all you can do is dodge roll until you run out of stamina and die. Not to mention they can change guards almost instantly.
He simply needs to be more COMMITED to shoulder bash (fast, unblockable), and it would fix many problems. Top light counter is good mechanic, if other characters would have similar things at their disposal.
As it stands now, he can start shoulder bash, and not commit to it (cancel into parry, or block, or gb). He is fully flexible, while you got to run for your money when you see shoulder trash. (err.. bash)
