So I really enjoy stealth games, especially the Splinter Cell series, but something about the AI's mechanics in this game have me scratching my head. I understand that if I take out an enemy, and another enemy sees the body, then they should call it in, and begin searching for who killed their mate. But what I don't get is how they automatically know exactly what direction, and how far away the person was who killed their mate???
It's even more mind boggling if I used a suppressed weapon, and wasn't seen when I took the first guy out. Any other stealth game I've ever played, if the enemy finds a downed buddy, they begin searching the area around the body. But in this game, they call it in on the radio, and then I've seen entire compounds of AI soldiers run and bunch up right on top of the exact location from where I took the stealth kill shot?! How in the world does that make any sense???
I could understand if I had gone loud, and then went into concealment to get away, and then they wanted to go investigate my last known position, but that's because they actually saw me standing there shooting at them, or heard me shoot, Much like the mechanic in Splinter Cell, where you are shown a transparent highlight of where the enemy believes your last known position to be, so that you can begin to distance yourself from that location, and regain your concealment.
I don't know if an AI change like the one I'm describing is complicated to implement or not, but it really needs to be considered.
