Kensei: why when i take a deflect i must take the damage of the opponent

As a Kensei, when i take a deflect I am not able to escape or parry any attack of the opponent.
When i make a deflect other classes can dodge or parry or counter the guard break.

I need some information or tips...
    Thx.

By "deflect", do you mean "dodge into their attack at the right moment"? 'Cause that's an assassin/valk only deal.

Unless you mean "parry", which is "heavy attack into their attack at the right moment".

In the case of parry, you might just need to find an attack fast enough to connect before they recover. Either that or do the proper Kensei thing and follow up with a GB and combo finisher.

Yeah i mean parry with my heavy attack.
After that i dash and make a guard break(a fast move i think) and they can ****er my guard break.
Thanks for the information now I try to connect with a heavy, because i saw a lot of classes can connect with heavy.
If i cannot I think the kensei is a little bit slow.

You probably don't need to dash to connect a guardbreak after a parry.

The dash gives them more recovery time.

Classes that use long weapons like LB you have to dash to GB after a parry. It's probably better to just follow up with a light attack after a parry on them.

You should be able to pounce on long range weapon users after a heavy parry. And just normal GB short range weapon users. IDK if it's a bug to be able to GBC after a parry but it does happen from time to time.

What Alchemist said. Long range weapon users tend to not have a free GB after a parry.
