Why can't we get more plot again?

This is directed at the devs, what are the reasons that we can't have content that pushes out more plot? underground has you doing a mission that investigate a riker bombing before unlocking the underground and hear messages of people giving weapon caches to them, why didn't we get a mission to go after them at some point? why we don't unlock a final mission when we hit lv 40 on the underground to defuse more bombs in a special map for it? underground is frustating because is all the same mission type in the same room so the player feels like going into circles even more than usual, you don't get special intel if you do mission with all 5 directives that if you colect them all you fight a special boss or cutscene showing what's to come, you get absolutely no sense of progression in plot from undergroud

I understand more in the case of survival since it's one scenario that the player in forcibly repeting 1 specific incident, but even then it's so goddanm closed on itself that goes nowhere again. Last stand is also something you just do but get nowhere in plot, no special cutscene showing rogue agents prepparing some plan, or signal of some kind faction that stayed north on the map, give us something to look foward for ****s sake, going nowhere in the game honestly just make the grind and repetitive factor of the missions even more obvious and the game horrible after the first very few playthrough of anything

So many allusions to more story, but they just don't make the payoff. Pretty lame of them, imho. You have Keener escaping with the virus. Falcon Lost incursion has Fay saying she's trying to find out what happened to the President. Who is dropping the supply drops in the DZ and why? Whatever happened to April? Will Fay's leg ever actually heal? Will Fay ever agree with ANYTHING Ramos has to say?

What they don't realize is just how much players value story. Warframe, for example, is nothing short of a mindless grindfest. However, it is incredibly popular and successful as its story is their primary focus and it keeps players engaged and theorizing.

Since the game probably turned out very profitable, the agenda seems to be to keep this profit as high as possible, and only invest the bare minimum effort to publicly save face and pretend they still care.

I mean the creative director almost said it literally, story missions can't be done "easily", which means "cheaply" in business lingo.
Look Massive wanted a Cal of Duty style game but the weren't willing to commit the money needed to finish the PvE content of the game. They figured the players would get the first 30 levels of the game done in a week then everyone would go off the to the DZ and happily run around shooting each other over and over again.
At this time due to the loss of the number of players it is a risk. BUT they may need to invest the money to regain the lost confidence in the Massive development branch of UBI . I for one will not buy any game developed them, I'll just avoid them like the plague.

They are not going to invest any money into this, that part is appearant. What we see is that they've had a skeleton crew on this game since launch. Ubisoft sees its priorities in launching a game then devoting all assets towards a new game that can rake in money. I'm not sure what they saw in Avatar but the Division would be a much better IP to support. I don't understand the hard heads of the execs that make these decisioins but it is what it is and won't be changing.

If you objectively look at was has been delivered so far, you can objectively conclude that story was never a high priority, maybe not even on the table. I bought the season pass expecting more story, not game modes with recycled material.

I don't even care much for the story, unless a game features an amazing story it's all about gameplay. What i've been asking for shouldn't be that hard to add, that's the puzzling part.

You see the problem lies in the fact that the Massive Development team is not interested in what the player base was looking for in the game. They where/are only interested in what THEY WANT in a game. They could have fixed this and regained their player base somewhat if they had implemented a DLC that opened up a new section of NY and extended the story line. BUT they didn't because PvP was the only goal they had. There narrow mindedness and lack of for-cite should be a red flag when anyone considers buying another game by the Massive development team. If I was UBI I would be keeping massive on a very short leash. I don't think UBI will want another Massive fail like the Division. They may have broke sales records BUT they also had a record number of gamers walk away. I don't know anyone still playing it anymore. I just drop in occasionally to see if anythings been fixed. But when it takes 10 minutes to get a team together there's not many players on line any longer.

I'm with you with wanting PVE content, i've been asking for it forever and thus far it's fallen on deaf ears. I still think UBI made them put a minimal crew on this and pushed them onto the next game(Avatar). This is what Ubi always does, so it's not in the least bit surprising, I just figured since it broke sales records they might see the incredible potential here.
