I'm sorry Massive. I enjoy the Division. I have enjoyed it since it was released. It's gone through ups and downs...but I like the world and what you can do in it.
But damned if you guys didn't royally screw up that SOTG which was a year 2 announcement that wasn't supposed to be a year two announcement which everyone perceived as a year 2 announcement and year 2 pretty much was said to contain nothing new. Oh man.
I know you know. You admitted to it. I gotcha. I just had to convey my opinion somewhere that I think that was the most epic failure I've ever seen in games. There are no doubt bigger ones. But for me...getting that many players to quit the game all at once was the biggest fail I've ever seen.
I literally did not even play Division until last night because of what was conveyed on that stream. I almost deleted it, but I thought, 'eh let's see what happens.'
Anyway, that's all I have to say about that. Have a good one.
After watching the yesterdays SotG I thought "Well at least they're honest about it" but to get the Year 1 celebration/(not)Year 2 announcement so wrong is pretty poor really. I think a lot of players just threw up their hands and said I've hand enough, yesterday's retraction/apology won't bring them back.
The accumulated frustrations of sticking with this game over the last year, with all it's ups and downs, have left a lot of players at a tipping point and making such a mess of communicating what the future of the game will be may have been worse than the news itself, after yesterday's stream I'm still not sure what the news is?
I have a feeling that for a lot of long term players the 'Year 2 announcement that never was' finally broke the spell this game had over them, they've realised there is a world outside the window and other games to be played and that they will never get the game that The Division could've been.
Snowdrop engine again. Does that mean we can get stuck on real bushes now instead of pieces of random trash?Originally Posted by Mad-Cap Go to original post
The only way I'm even looking at another game with Massive involved in it is of someone else I know and trust plays it first, pays for my copy, then talks me into playing with them.Originally Posted by Mad-Cap Go to original post
Given how good The Division could have been, and how poorly it's been treated(especially in light of recent events and patches), I just can't see giving them any more money.
the CM are actually doing a good job. the rootcause for the SoTG is more due to bad game design decision.
So imho they should stop doing weekly SoTG, but try to create better community event. I really feel that it could be enjoyable. Hamish vs Yannick in Last stand, jumping jack flashmob in the terminal, dancing constest with Larae barrett*
aka clean the room, let only Larae Barret alive in the hall and spam heal while doing emote close to her. The longest dance win.
