So I logged onto steam and jumped into wild lands today, and All 30 hours of my game play was erased. The game prompted me to redo the brightness setttings and Hud settings on launch again. After doing so, the game loaded as if I had never played before and prompted me to start a new game with a new character. This is the second time this has happened to me, and probably the 20th time I've heard of this happening.
Not only that, but the only way to regain the ability to save another character, you HAVE to do the workaround that they list. But there is no telling for how long that will last. Also, on my second character, for whatever reason I lost almost 15-20FPS no matter what I was doing and with the same settings. This game really has game-breaking issues.
Seriously, this is 60 hours of gameplay that I have just lost. It's really disheartening considering I really WANT to like this game.

Hi mate. I had the same today when I got in from work. Game was in Russian (wtf?) and my character was reset to the beggining.
I went here C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\<your ID>\1771 and you should have 3 save files. One of these (probably the 2nd one should hopefully have yesterdays date on it).
Anyways I renamed save 2 to save 1 as that seemed to be the biggest one and had the previous days date on it. Not sure if this helped but anyways.
I then went into the main menu and the 2nd option down allows you to select which save you want to play. Hopefully your level X character is selectable.
If not, maybe download an undeleter and see if you can find the old files in that directory to restore?

yeah, same thing happened to me 6 days ago, they told me they can't revert save games. i just don't have the energy to put any more time into this game if theres a possibility it will happen again.
