Giving a general thought on the general discussion forum 2

Since the game release, I have spent most of my class time on this game so far (I am still going to classes, don't worry), and I must say the game is now from good to almost reaching great, just a few fixes will do the job very well. So I am here again to ask for some additional improvement to the game to increase the "tactical immersion" of the Ghost Recon world. Here is a list of what I like right now:

    1. Fast Travel to safe houses; good option to head back to mission area after flying the supply plane. (Saving time, which is the best currency in game)

    2. Gun handling & recoil; full auto option on any gun in the real world means "panic mode," therefore the recoil should never let you dump a mag on target.

    3. Suppresser (or silencer); with some help of physics in high school, you should know the gun can be suppressed but not entirely silenced, so the response of nearby targets should respond to the weapon fired. GJ devs.

    4. Vehicle physics; call me crazy, but drifting a 4x4 without a lowered suspension and 17inch cross-country tire in the wildland is one of my dreams, and avoiding missiles with a hummingbird feels oddly satisfying, could just be me.

    5. Gun modification menu; not what I expected to be like Future Soldier, but it's good to see that it's still there, just hoping that the screws and small hardware within the gun can be shown as well in the future.

    6. Drone; the cheese of the game, I hope that game was not built around the drone concept, but man does it make the life of Ghosts so much easier.

Now, you might wonder "What about the bad things in the game right now?", well, if you haven't seen my post 1 of this Thread let me C&P it for you to make things easy (with some changes), the list is as follows:

P.S. Some of these are suggestions to improve the game in one way or another, but again it's my personal opinions.

    1. Remove the ability to custom, change or equip any items when the player is NOT using an ammo cache.

    2. Create a different menu when the player is in the open world without the ammo box nearby, which does not include customization of the loadout and gun selection.

    3. The gunsmith should have a separate platform rather combined with the ammo box as this make the player plan ahead before heading for a mission.

    4. All Vehicle physics and handling, including planes and mostly helicopters, should be revised and restructured as how it works in the real world.

    5. When playing solo, the AI teammate should be much more responsive, i.e. kill targets that are too close to the player or the AI itself, as standard before any upgrade is activated.

    6. When playing solo, sync shot ability should be able to be activated by holding down sync shot button.

    7. When playing solo, the AI teammates should be moving and getting into the vehicle once the player is starting to get into the driver seat, or even pilot the vehicle for the player.

    8. When playing solo, the AI teammate should have a better navigation system inside builds or underground structures, i.e. move outside of the building when ordered to regroup inside the building.

    9. When selecting orders using the order wheel, players should be able to move at the same time rather than having to stay still. This method should increase the efficiency and diversity of every engagement.

    10. When switching shoulder view, a slight time delay between each transaction can be implemented, as this will promote players to plan their way of engagement much earlier and creating a realistic combat scenario.

That is all for this thread, thank you for reading till the end and until the next update.

No worries, I see great future in Wildland and, for the very first time, I want to write about my thoughts (Sorry Division, got to give it to GR this time, no hard feelings?). Keep up the good work and live up the name of Ghost Recon!

The shoulder swapping delay idea is very poor. people swap shoulders so they can actually see when in cover. Sometimes your vision is stuck to the wall and moving along the wall changing the shoulder view, and your "idea" would make it impossible, even annoying to play stealthily.

I understand the thought of making the game a planned tactical simulation, it wa intended to be that way when created, but the delay would create more problems than it would solve.

-Cover changes shoulder many times, moving in cover increases this.
-Some vehicles will change shoulder (not sure if thats a bug)
-Holstering your weapon changes shoulder (and locks it)

Delays would just ruin the game in general. Not being able to see an enemy while in cover because you are waiting for it to change back, even if it wasn't your fault. Trying to shoot from cover because of this and not being able to (1 shoulder view will shoot the enemy, while the other side will shoot the window frame) is just sad. Delays in any game is not a good thing.

Edit: I agree with your improvements for the solo AI though, and everything else.

Thank you for letting me know about your point (and agreeing with my most of my ideas, tears of joy!), and to be honest after you reasoning, it does seem that my theory for a delay in shoulder swapping is not a well-structured thought.

Despite the fact I still stand by the realism of weapon transaction and actual mechanic of firearms, I could overlook this problem and admit I was nitpicking about the function of the game (because at the end of the day, GRW is still a fast paste shooter game).

I will continue to see observe whether the shoulder swapping mechanic is in any need of improvement or changes, but after this one, I might just have to live with it.

Again, thank you for stopping by to give comments and opinions to my thread, hope to see you around when the next patch comes.
