Wait for him to whiff a head butt and then GB immediately after. If you get caught in a head butt chain, roll out of it immediately and try to dodge the next one.
I too am a warlord main and i have severly mixed feelings about the headbutt. I personally use it to close gaps on wardens and nobushi. The only way to get close is to jump with a heavy from top which is easily parried. On wardens the headbutt stops the free hit and allows you to begin the warlords side slashing. That being said thereare way too many classes that exploit their jump and dodge advantage to get ride of the headbutt. Again its the only way to prevent some classes that stand back and poke. For the most part you are garunteed only one light attack from a headbutt and thats still not 100%. Dodging to the side or backwards for most classes is a great way to punish a warlord who wants to initiate a fight. A head butt or anything on a shugoki is a great way to be grabbed and thrown down with no stam and hit with a charge, or a berserker, orochi, or peacekeeper to step to the side and get a hit and possible combo. Warlords have much too short of range to not have something to help close the gap. Why is it a peacekeeper who is a fraction the size can weild a one handed sword that seems to have way more range then warlords? Most assasin classes, even kensai and valk are stupid if they dont do a side step attack and on a warlord who is initiating a fight, thats a great way to get hit. Imo there are way more things that need nerfs then the wl headbutt. That or give him a further leap and increase his swords range a bit. I cant tell you how many times i jump back twice and an orochi or pk catches me in one leap or how many times i swing close range and wiff a light just to get hit with a pks crazy strong attack

I feel like cds on certain abilities should be implemented to add more predictability to the game. Warlord's headbutt is important to break defensive players from the parry hungry habits, yet it is also as you said too spammable

Roll out or side dodge, when I have played the Warlord, any time I try to headbutt repeatedly instead of as a counter punch, I get dodged and punished. Warlord as a class actually does more right than other classes. Its dumb to ask for it to be nerfed along with things like shield bash and warden shoulder, when half the complaints are that the game meta is too defensive. Those move provoke and reward offense and open people up. Take them out and the defensive only meta is just reinforced. If anything more characters need moves like these, other than just GB+wall stun, to crack open overly defensive characters.

Yea nerf the Warlord to be more casual to cater to you guys that can't exploit their weakness... right. Warlord headbutts are almost telegraphed if you are good enough. Don't cry nerf just because you can't side dodge. Jesus I swear all you guys want the game catered and nerfed to oblivion because you guys are incompetent when it comes to a certain hero...

I've been trying to think of a way to nerf the headbutt without making it useless and I've only come up with a few ways to do so without removing viability and options.

Option 1: Increase stamina cost of the headbutt. Obviously this one wont be favorable.
Option 2: "Nobody wins in a headbutt". This options is a little out there but interesting in my opinion. Essentially every time the headbutt is used, the Warlord gets the blinding Debuff. If it's spammed, it continues to ramp up in intensity until the Warlord's screen blacks out and they are on the ground. (The last two affects may be optional).

This would not only dissuade the abuse of the headbutt, but offer a form of counterplay beyond getting a lucky dodge (in groups fights, warlords just spam this as an interrupt that can't be blocked or interrupted).

Headbutt is too safe. a lot of moves are too safe.

Safety is poisoning gameplay and risk is the mother of fun.

    Sort it out already devs.

    PK vs Warlord

Go in for GB->Triple stab? No, Warlord is in full guard mode and is just hovering over GB to counter.
    Lunge stab? No, full guard
    Sidestep stab? No, full guard
Heavy->Feint->Light? Mid feint, you're getting headbutted.

Okay, so no opening attacks will reward you. It will just punish you.

Stay in range and wait for an attack to counter..

Warlord Heavy -> sidestep and stab or riposte for a wee bit of damage! You have now filled his revenge meter by 1/3rd. You have removed 1/8th of his health.
Warlord GB -> Good luck disrupting it! Side dodge! Now he's headbutt heat seeking tagged you mid dodge! oh, chained into a shield ram! You're exhausted and on the ground!! Warlord gets a free heavy hit! You've lost 1/4 your health.

Screw it, only way you can kill him before he revenges is to get your light attacks in while he heavies!

Warlord Heavy -> Light attack (Warlord Revenges) you are now on the ground, exhausted, and vulnerable to another free warlord heavy! You are now dead.

Can't stay in range and wait to parry to return damage because you just get headbutted nonstop. This **** is ridiculous

Every fight against a warlord, ever.

The biggest issue with balance in the game right now is all of the unblockable unparryable attacks. All the heroes who have unblockable unparryable combo starters are prospering right now because your only defense against them is to dodge. In the case of the warlord, he has a strong 50/50 out of the gate because the headbutt is so quick it is hard to dodge on reaction alone and if you try to predict dodge it, you risk getting GB.

The warden, warlord, and conquerer (Maybe a few others I'm forgetting) are some of the most solid heroes in the game because they can hit you with an unblockable unparryable attack at any time that guarantees followup damage with no need to even build up a combo into it. Not all heroes have this luxury and the ones that don't are mostly suffering because of it.

Warlord needs to be adjusted. No fair and objective assessment of the class would suggest different. He can throw you a mile, , hyperarmor, good damage, speed, top defense, a top heavy off GB, huge arc on side and the infamous headbutt. He's a monster that can that overshadows half the classes in the game.

PSA: the headbutt isn't the problem, the ''guarranteed'' poke follow up is. I put guarranteed in quotation mark because I managed to block it a couple of time while fighting against Warlord. It is by no mean a consistent block, I myself haven't found how to block that attack everytime, but It can be done. Am I the only one? Could someelse tell us how to consistenly block the poke?
