I was really looking forward to getting this game but was massively disappointed with the helicopter controls, it seems like you've added in some auto-pilot stuff which takes the fun away from flying helicopters in games such as Battlefield or ARMA - not to mention it makes it nigh-on impossible to track a vehicle and keep it in your reticule.
Will there be a patch that enables full control over the helicopters soon? Even just the ability to toggle the full controls on or off, so people who like the current controls can keep them whereas the people who hate them have the ability for full control. That would make this game awesome in my opinion.
Takes a while to get used to. Hope this will help https://youtu.be/unfwxMy5tfUOriginally Posted by Xanthonius Go to original post
Hey, thanks for this, it was very helpful. Guess you don't have any tips for the plane? I suck even worse at thatOriginally Posted by AI BLUEFOX Go to original post![]()
Regarding the plane, I've managed to become reasonable successful flying it. This is for the PC version only. I use the W,S,A,D keys with my left hand to maneuver and the up, down arrows for throttle with my right. No mouse. I pretty much press the up arrow for the entire flight until it is time to land. The use the down arrow to slow. The game is very forgiving with hard landings. Find a plane in an area with no SAM missiles and just fly around to practice. After a while, you'll find out you can even do barrel rolls.
I'm on PC as well, but due to the multi functional setup on my gaming rig, It is not practical to use my keyboard for game controls, so I use a XB360 controller.Originally Posted by Jeffbboat Go to original post
Works in a similar way in many respects. If you move left/right while on the ground you will see the rudder turn and it works as you'd expect. In the air, you only want to be carrying out bank turns (roll then pitch) and you need to consider your approach to the landing strip. Watch out for the roll though it is pretty severe.Originally Posted by fixer7267 Go to original post
