Not a huge issue, but one that continues to puzzle.
I always give civilians whatever they ask for when approached, mostly to get the small XP but out of habit from earlier in the game.
I can't say for sure, but I don't remember ever getting anything of any use from any of them...and by now I've likely had thousands of drops from them.
For instance, perhaps someone could explain what on earth the point is in a civilian NPC dropping a blue weapon when I'm playing in WT5?
It's almost like the game still thinks I'm roaming the streets in the 1-30 playthrough and so drops loot compatible with such an underpowered character.
Why else would it happen?
What I'd like to see is an occasional drop that, I'd I know I'm crazy to say it, you know, IS ACTUALLY USEFUL!!!!!
A 10k DPS blue Aug doesn't help me I'm any way, shape, or form.
It serves no purpose in my stash.
It serves no purpose on my back or in my hands.
It serves no purpose for parts to break down.
It is useless junk.
Just once, maybe, could they drop something decent?
Perhaps they could even, being a system run by the RNG God, drop the odd yellow...or dare I say, am exotic?
I don't mean all the time, I don't even mean most of time...just occasionally.
If an old lady limping up the street cursing in Spanish can drop a sub-machine gun after I give her a tin of corned beef then it's not a question of lore or realism.
It's just a question of lazy design...like the senile repetition of Paul Rhodes.
Anyway, not expecting anything to change, just voicing my opinion and wondering out loud.
If anyone agrees and thinks it is something they could work on, they could so here.
I don't imagine it is something monumentally difficult to introduce.
Mind you, no doubt we would end up with a complete 180 and civilian NPCs would start dropping exotics like they are going out of fashion.
Finesse and subtlety don't seem to be Massive strong suit...going big with drastic overhauls, yes, but the carefully crafted minutiae, no.
I usually collect all that purple stuff as I get something like 80k credits for weapon which saves me high ends to deconstruct and still earn some credits. Or even I deconstruct purples for crafting assigments, even easier is visit DZ division tech places close to checkpoint for get mats for that assigments as convert you can convert gold/blue div. techs to high end crafting mats and counted to assigment
And... civilians gives you small amount of XP. Nothing significant, but.. why not.
