Spotting/damage taken direction indicator extremely broken

The directional indicator for when you're being spotted or taking damage only matches up to the correct direction if you're looking straight at the source in question; this makes it extremely difficult to hide from the enemy that's spotting you or take cover when being shot at because you aren't being told the correct direction. Last night the spotting indicator told me I'd been spotted from directly behind me, but after much frantic firing in that general direction the enemy came closer and was revealed to actually have been directly to the left of my original facing. This has gotten me spotted and/or killed more times than I can count.

You do realize they don't come straight at you. They flank either left or right most times. The best thing to do is, once spotted run fast and then go to cover. if you stay where you are once spotted, and cannot engage them directly. You will be killed quickly. They do appear on your mini-map once you are spotted so look at it before you move. Then move away from the orange dot, as fast as possible. Once things quite down continue on the mission.

I think you misunderstood what I'm saying. I got spotted and the indicator told me the guy was directly behind me. I spun to find him and the indicator swing all the way from behind me, to straight ahead, to behind me again. Before I spun around, the enemy the indicator was from was more or less at my 9 o'clock; the indicator was directly at the bottom of my screen, indicating that he was at my 6 o'clock. After I spun around, the indicator was again at my 6 o'clock, but the enemy was at my 3 o'clock. The indicator is terribly broken.

I've been noticing this as well, even with helis or planes. SAM sites at 11 o'clock are registering to my right, and I know they're not there because I'm going along a coast with nothing but water to my right. Happens often, even on the ground. Sometimes I look for an enemy at one o'clock that isn't there and then find one behind me.

The indicators in this game don't work like normal games, and that is whats confusing.

The indicator as 3 o'clock does not mean the enemy is straight to your right, is means you need to look some distance right to see him, maybe only an eighth turn, maybe almost a 180.
12 o'clock doesn't mean forward, it means up. 6 doesn't mean backward, it means down.

It is confusing because no other games use this system, but it is consistent with itself, and therefore not really "extremely broken". Just quite poorly designed.
