Ghost Recon 1 and 2 were first person shooters, check out the footage on YT.

GRAW on the other hand, that's when the series jumped to 3rd.

There is a military tactical shooter coming out on Apr 25, 2017 that is in first person only.

Nope only the first one was first person.

On consoles since Ghost Recon 2 has been in third person, on PC is another story

GRAW 1 and GRAW 2 where different games on XBOX 360 and PC, being the X360 version of GRAW2 more accurate than the PC version, talking about the ending of course.

The original Ghost Recon was First Person on PC. Fantastic game, refreshing title to move onto from Rainbow Six. Also GRAW, at least on PC was first Person. Didn't get with it really too clunky so never bothered to play the rest. If I remember correctly they had like 4 weapons to choose from, utter bobbins.

Wildlands is just a fun game which has a flavour of real life, as I have mentioned in other posts this game does have untapped potential. However I think it is designed with accessibility for a spectrum of players and player styles. So a massive Hybrid...

The third person view isn't my favourite but I don't let it retract from me having a blast in this game. I just can't take it serious, like at all. I get my Kicks and MILSIM from ARMA, that has an optional 3rd person and has always been sold as situational awareness by the Devs. People will always agree and disagree so giving people the option to customise the games difficulty has always been a fair compromise. I very much doubt that will happen with this title though.

    It's sound how it is!
You can ADS & over the shoulder..God knows how you say that you can see into buildings and around things too easily but then run into things? Maybe this game isn't for you?
The beta was open, The game has been highly watched prior to release so if it hits yous that hard that this isn't a direct FPS then why buy it?

First person would be nice to have in the game, yeah! BUT you cant go cussing the debs on that or even ask for it to be added now? Like someone else said, its way too late for that...game mechanics would have to change so much i feel.

On console btw! Not sure how its on PC but like he said, its a hybrid type game for many styles of play...tactical or arcade, they've made it an enjoyable game for a few styles of gamers.

Agree 1st person should be an option.

I love how people express a very subjective opinion phrasing it like its a widely considered fact. My response:

No, it certainly doesnt NEED to be in first person, an option would be cool, but the game sure as **** doesnt NEED it.

People have difficulty of playing the game with 3rd person view. I use to have a problem with that. But I got used to it. Metal Gear, Division, Horizon Zero Dawn, Socom, etc.
