    How about emotes that actually help?

    Playing in the DZ earlier someone appeared as I was waiting to extract and begun helping me fight NPCs.

    We teamed up and then a short while a later they invited someone else and we were 3 strong.

    For about 40 minutes as roamed DZ-7-8-9 taking on NPC and collecting a fair bit of serviceable loot.

    However, like anyone of us who.has been in that situation we found communication difficult at times.

    No verbal communication was possible, I assume they had no mic, and I later found out after sending a ps4 friend request that one was Italian and one Danish.

    It's certainly possible with English being the global lingua franca that they might have spoken English, but I don't know that for sure.

    So I, like lots of players have, wondered why a more effective system of non verbal communication isn't in the game...as opposed to meaningless clapping and ridiculous Irish jigs.

    Why is there not a simple wave for "This way" or a gesture for "Let's extract" or something to say "Follow me" so that it is much easier to work as a team without second guessing and constantly stopping to look back and hope they are still behind you?

    At one point in our play time I had filled my bag and wanted to extract, lest a team of socially inadequate gank tramps happened upon our persons and attempted a tasteless armed robbery.

    Being unable to signal this to my fellow agents I ended up having to just walk off with the hope they would follow...which they did eventually.

    So, if not now but in a future patch/update, or even a sequel, could we, should we, have some emotes that actually aid teamwork and tactical play, making non verbal communication much easier, as opposed to inane air punching and salutes?

    Really good question, I much rather spend 20-30$ on new emotes that were militarily influenced directional commands and such, instead of childish taunts and goofey playing around actions. I am surprised they didn't add the guy dipping the tea bag into the coffee cup emote...fits that ganker rogue mentality to well amiright

    It got to be such a habit that I T-bagged and dry humped even when I was alone on the test range working on my PC. LOL

    It's a good idea to have emotes that are useful but I still like the silly ones it doesn't have to be either or, we can have both order emotes and fun emotes. I have noticed that most people use the 'help' emote for follow me.

    I guess there is room for both, I just wish there were a few that made it easier to communicate in the DZ with random players.

    As an example I'd have;

    1) "Let's (Go to) Extract(ion) - Repeatedly raise arm to imitate firing of flare gun.

    2) "Follow me" - Beckoning similar to wave but more exaggerated.

    3) "I'm no threat/let's team up" - Drop and kneel, bowing head, in an exaggerated sign of deference.

    4) "Thanks for helping" - Similiar to handshake mechanic.

    It is clear that non verbal communication using limited gestures is not easy to implement, but then again the ones currently used could have been made more effective and efficient, having them actually mean something that everyone recognises as opposed to just being a physical action.

    The fact that they added new emotes without any thought to the question of on the fly non verbal tactics, a staple of real world military personnel (clenched fist for stop, two fingers pointed at your eyes for enemy sighted/look over there etc...), makes me think they have;

    A) Never given it any thought.
    B) Did consider it but couldn't be bothered.

    People usually use the help emote to get you to come this way. But yeah would be a good idea.
