Symptoms: game starts launching u see the small launch screen right before it crashing, personally lasting up to a maximum of 3 seconds.
Assumed cause: The game uses EasyAntiCheat.exe from sysWOW64, attempting to run the program without running the game, the application had issues repairing/reinstalling the service part of EAC.
Resolution: I manually installed the EAC provided by the game, included in the game folder. Into my sysWOW64 and reinstalled/repaired EAC for GRW from there.
Although I wouldnt recommend this if you do not know what you are doing. People that do can attempt this solution and provide their experience. This might help Ubisoft to fix this issue rather then us doing it.
What exactly do you mean when you say that you installed EAC manually into the Syswow64 folder? As far as I can tell, running the program from inside the GRW install directory seems to install EAC in the syswow64 folder. If you could possible go into a little bit more detail with the steps you took I'm sure that quite a few people would appreciate it, I know I would. Thank you!
i Tried to reinstall\repair but didnt workOriginally Posted by MrVecetti Go to original post
- I cut and pasted the EasyAntiCheat.exe from my sysWOW64 folder to a different folder. (so i kept a backup)
- I copy and pasted all files inside the EasyAntiCheat folder inside the GRW installation folder. (so NOT the folder itself, but all files inside it.) I didnt get a prompt to overwrite a file, but if you do, I would advice you not to overwrite.
- I renamed the EasyAntiCheat_setup.exe that i just put inside my sysWOW64 folder to the name the original file had which was EasyAntiCheat.exe.
- I executed the new EasyAntiCheat.exe that I had just put inside the sysWOW64 folder and I uninstalled, installed and repaired EasyAntiCheat for GRW.
- To be sure I ran the rungame.exe as admin from the GRW. This will not launch your game.
- After this it was fixed for me and I could run the game without a problem from both steam and uplay.
For the second bolded comment, I think that this is due to the fact that the installer is trying install a file that has the name as itself into the same directory.Originally Posted by MrVecetti Go to original post
I tried copying all of the files from the EasyAntiCheat folder in the GRW directory to the syswow64 folder and renaming the EasyAntiCheat_setup.exe file to just EasyAntiCheat.exe completely skipping any kind of installing (as well as installing from the setup exe while in the syswow64 folder then deleting the setup exe and keeping the installed exe) then launching the game but didn't have any luck with the game launching that way either.
Tried this as well and it did not work for me. Still won't launch.
what error 32 did you get?Originally Posted by BrandoDando Go to original post
might be easier to add me on uplay
I copied all of the files without issue to the syswow64 folder, uninstalled EAC, and the reinstalled it from the Setup in syswow64 and the game still fails to launch. I get the splashscrren and then nothing.
what happens when u run the EasyAntiCheat.exe before u replace it when you run it? i kept getting errors regaring the service functions if i tried to repair or rinstall easyanticheat from there.. maybe u guys have a different issues or you/I are missing a part of what i did to repair my game.
seems my game only works if i launch it from uplay.
