    Game save lost 2017-03-14

My Ghost recon save just disappeared over the night.

before i logged off yesterday night i fast traveled to a safe house, and got the auto save and waited it out. then i pressed ESC and quitted to desktop as normally.. ( 2017-03-14 ) And today ( 2017-03-15 ) when i was going to play some more i didn't have my save anymore.

Somehow it has just disappeared by a bug..

And i have restarted the game a couple of times, also logging in and out from steam and uplay but it didn't work.

How do i get back my save?
Anyone else having the same problem?

    Having exactly the same issue.

    Wildlands Patch 1.1.5

Played early this morning without issues, then exited the game to desktop.

Logged back in couple of hours ago. Uplay launcher updated and after restartingand lauching Widlands, previous saved game session was wiped out and I have to restart a new character.

Restarted Widlands and Uplay launcher same result.

    Under properties checked Install location

    C:/Program Files (x86)/Ubisoft/Ubisoft Game Launcher/games/Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands/
Used verified files option. same result.

    also checked
    C:\Users\...\Documents\My Games\Ghost Recon Wildlands\Persistent Storage folder

See multiple cache files, last one modified on the 11th of March

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands\logs

uplay_crash_reporter file is empty as well

I did saw a brief message regarding saving to cloud after Uplay client update this morning

I've been playing co-op with friends quite a bit and it looks like I'm the only one affected.

Yea i have exactly the same, i am the only one in my friend group who have this issue aswell...
I did create a new character just to have something to do played about 30 minutes and then i quitted playing.
Started up a moment ago again and that new save was also gone.

I am now trying to uninstall the game and reinstall it again, don't know if that will work but allways worth a try.

So the Uplay update did really screw this up heh? ( maybe the uplay update )

Ok I've done a bit of research and it does look like uplay did wipe out the save file.

The save file are located in two different area : the Uplay cloud server and in this directory:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames

You should see two files: 1.save and 1.save.tmp

for me both were showing a modification date of this morning: when I recreated my character and they did synced to the uplay cloud.

I have tried system restore but I only have today's date available.

So if your lucky the following could be worth a shot.

Save the content of savegame folder and try a system restore to previous date: i.e yesterday.

)now uninstalling and re-installing uplay and wildland should not have an impact on the data recovered from the system restore but you never know)

Then if system restore complete successfully, check the file modification date. If they show yesterday's date. Then save them as well and re-launch Wildland.

Interesting thing is that only Wildlands is affected. I still have my Division character :/

    Good Luck.

    Hi there!

I am sorry to hear that you are having the issue with your save games. To help us investigate this issue, could you provide us with a copy of the affected save file?

The easiest way to provide us with them would be through a support ticket, which you can create on our support site here.

The default location of these saves for both Steam and Uplay are as follows:*

    Uplay PC:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\<account_id> \1771

    Steam PC:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\<account_id> \3559

If you are unable to attach a file because it is too big to attach, please compress the file into a .zip folder using a program such as Winzip which is free.

Once it's uploaded, could you let me know your ticket number and I'll make sure to pass it on.

Hi mate. I had the same today when I got in from work. Game was in Russian (wtf?) and my character was reset to the beggining.

I went here C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\<your ID>\1771 and you should have 3 save files. One of these (probably the 2nd one should hopefully have yesterdays date on it).

Anyways I renamed save 2 to save 1 as that seemed to be the biggest one and had the previous days date on it. Not sure if this helped but anyways.

I then went into the main menu and the 2nd option down allows you to select which save you want to play. Hopefully your level X character is selectable.

If not, maybe download an undeleter and see if you can find the old files in that directory to restore?

Best of luck! I now have my character back AND the game in English..
