The mission is called Carzita's Assistant...not sure if that is the correct spelling. The province is Agua Verde.

You must plant listening devices without being detected.
I keep failing it because I get almost to the first spot I need to bug and the rebels drive a truck through the front gate and open fire on the cartel.
Instant mission fail and instant cursing rant by me.

In solo, this is fairly easily solved. Just make sure you're close, but not close enough to actually be in the mission area (yellow circle). Use syncshot to take out the guards, then just walk in and bug the place.

Similar tactics can be applied to other missions, e.g. there's a mission where you have to tap a radio signal without being detected, but there's a drone jammer. I just disabled the drone jammer using my HTI before entering the mission area. I did trigger an alarm, but technically I wasn't in the mission yet, so no failure. Just let them settle down, then entered the mission area and all was fine.

So use the mechanics to your advantage.

That is basically what I did. It was also night time when the rebels messed it up for me, they didn't show up in the day light. I don't know if that is related or just because I killed all the cartel before I ran in.

C4 on the approach road = no more problems with rebels.
