Hello guys...
New player here, i was testing all the classes a bit and the 2 that i enjoy more was nobush and valk... so o would like to learn more about each one to chose one to main...
By first impression, borth looks be a long range classe... Valk looks be faster and deal less damage, with a lot more of combinations and variants... intil nobush looks be a bit slower but deal hard damage with bleeds.... Both can try to do a "control lock" combo.... valk by mix, light/heavy in to sweep/shieldbash, until nobush do light/heavy in to kicks...
At my litle matchs, looks like valks can play more offensive until nobush stay more defensive... The valk combos looks more fluid but easy to avoid that "sweep" and you get punished hard by missing this attack... I faced some guys (wardens) that i could only win by using valk and some warlords that i could only win as nobush (all in 1x1 arenas).
If my enemy chose to go turtle, i find easy to turn the table as a valk,(but if he learn how to evade the sweep im %&*%*... Until nobush get easy to defend myself if the enemy chose to come to pressure me with atacks, but if the enemy dont take the initiative, the fights last longer by we looking each other (even with nobush high damage)...
I would like to hear more reviews and particular opnion on each class, tattctics and who become more usefull at Dominions or group fights...
Im not sossure who has more potential for mind games and top tier players games....
By the way, how the hiden stance works? it is like dodge? but with a very small window to use??? most of time iget hited when try to avoid using the hiden stance
thx alot and sorry for my bad english.
I think Valk is more versatile. Nobushi is weak up close, and if you know how to dodge and punish her kick, then you will be up close most of the time.
Nobushi Pros:
-Bleeds
-Quick attacks
-High burst damage
-High range
-Immune to parry -> guardbreak
-Decent disabling
Nobushi Cons:
-Weak up close
-Low health
-Lacks combo variety
-Slow, lacks mobility
Valk Pros:
-Fast attacks
-High range
-High mobility
-Great disabling
-Very strong combo variety
-Great at gap closing
-Very efficient stamina usage
-Effective dodge attack
Valk cons:
-Low health
-Low damage
Now...
If you get beat just because an enemy adapted to a single trick, you're certainly not playing the character right. Valk is one of the most versatile and potentially unpredictable characters. Mix it up. Don't sweep just because you can, or your enemy will know to dodge; next time you get a guardbreak in, do a heavy -> shield bash -> guardbreak again. Next time you do a sweep, substitute the overhead heavy for 2 lights -> heavy feint into shield bash -> 2nd sweep. If you have them in front of a ledge, heavy -> shield bash -> heavy feint into shield bash -> sweep. etc, etc, etc. There are so many ways to mix it up.If my enemy chose to go turtle, i find easy to turn the table as a valk,(but if he learn how to evade the sweep im %&*%*
Thx alot....Originally Posted by HoldenMackolk Go to original post
did valk and nobush has the same health??? and is valk imune to this parry/guaranted GB like nobush?? or nobushe has a bit more range??
By the way, can some one explain me more about the hidden stance? can i use it to avoud headbutts and warden shoulderchargs????? or only normal attacks??? i gues the hiden stance time must be like the parry time??? it is working 1/10 times to avoid enemy attacks.
Easy call for me, Valky! I started to play For Honor in the open beta and my first hero was Warden, everything was like automatic and easy to do, kind of a no brainer. My 2nd choice was Nobushi, kills felt way more rewarding but everything was just harder to do. With the full release Valky appeared and had the pros of both Warden and Nobushi. Kills felt way more rewarding, but the overall gameplay was just way easier. I think both, Nobu & Valky, can be strong heros but Valky is way easier to play as soon as you understand how to play the game and use her strenghts.Originally Posted by andrelb1 Go to original post
Both are kind of safer than the majority, because of their range. Means getting parried is not always a guaranted guardbreak. From the other side, Valky can always get a gb after a parry, Nobu cant.
In addition to the gapcloser, the many options to kick people from edges and the fact that a gb from Valky puts your opponent into Valhallahell it is safe to say Valky is way better in punhishing opponents.
The other side of the medal goes in favor for Nobu, she is overall safer, or i might say Valky is a realy unsafe Hero, if you make any mistake you will get punished for this.
Also, Valky got a way better defense. The guardblockchange is obv in favor of Valky, but she also got a realy usefull fullguardmode. In a 1v1 where an opponent pops revenge, this will safe your life realy often. In a 2vs1 where the opp pops revenge your fullguard tackle can completly shut down your opp, making her way more usefull than Nobu. If you get revenge with Valky you can burst down almost everyone with a chain, as Nobu you kind of rely on your opponents mistake, like getting kicked or hit by the zone. So Valky is obv better in revenge and vs revenge as well.
Nobushis damage from chains can be used in regular situations, Valkys chains need an opening first like hitting the 2nd light in a chain, getting a gb or parry. Since both need almost the same amount of attackstrings to kill someone, while Valkies are longer, because Nobu deals more damage. I might give this offense point to Nobushi. But i still think Valkys strings are way easier to get used to.
Overall, since the game is all about def, it should be obv that Valky is a way better choice for a new player. Way easier to learn, easier to handle and still not completly simple.
edit: Hidden Stance works like a dodge/parry, but the time window is realy small. Afaik you can evade any attack with it, a usefull tool in off and def for nobushi.
being objective those are my 2 favs but for quite some time I decided to stick with the Valk because of her "all porpouse" nature. you can have full defense and deflect with her. but even with the speed boost she got.. she doesn´t compare to a Nobushi. if you persue attack hitting the first hit with a nobushi will give you almost an infinite combo.. much harder to react to her when an attack hits. while valkiria's second strike can be easelly blocked or parried.
wana be ofensive and take enemies fast?.. pick nobushi.. but you will have shortcomings against some classes(assassins, since her attacks are too foward and easy to dodge.. and her side dodge is a joke.).. and/or if someone gets to close to you.
wana be balanced, take your time, protect objectives and be afraid of no one? go Valkyrie. Ever since the update Im more in love with her. she actually doesn't have much range, but she can move. her grab is still ****, but Im not a GB exploiter. ever since the update.. Im not afraid to go agains any character.. there are still top tier and lesser tier characters.. but Im just not afraid.. it might be a tougher battle but now I fell it´s possible to win on most 1x1 situations.
