honestly i feel like if friendly fire did full damage you wouldn't need Revenge. with good positioning you could still find way to fight back.
i do it all the time where i will draw them into a tight space, or throw them into each other so they keep getting in each others way. the problem right now is people can go ham and throw attacks like crazy with very little damage to their team..
there have been so many time i have been in a 3 on 1 and thought if you had full team damage they would have killed each other way before me.
revenge does serve a purpose but i was never a fan. currently it's needed, but feels like more of a band aid fix to the 1 vs X problem. and in it's current form it's less of a way to help you survive in out numbered fights and more a crutch people rely on now.
but if team damage was a thing, the attacks would have to be more careful and couldn't just spam attacks, which would give the outnumbered person chance to attack back, and with smart play and awareness couldn't easily hold out.
I would love and hate this. I'm already trying to instruct my teams on proper beatdowns. If you're left, do left swings, if you're right do right swings, if you're center do tops, if you get to the fight last you're on shove/bash duty. Grab but don't throw for free heavies, etc. If you have teammates running in, dash to the open side cuz they're coming in hot.
The problem with full friendly fire is the trolling potential.
Imagine a friendly PK in full revenge gear, spamming zone attack into your group.
Botmatches would become ridiculous, because the bots spam their combos even if you are next to them. They even attack from behind you. How often did I get disoriented by my own teams lawbringer.
These problems need to be addressed before things can get changed.
My thoughts on possible solutions:
1. Friendly fire should be like 80% of total damage. 100% for feats like grenades and arrow shower (although I think that ranged damage feats should be removed completely).
2. Revenge should be activated automatically, and not manually. It also should not auto-parry on activation.
3. Revenge should activate only in 1 vs X situations, never in 1 x 1.
4. Revenge should add damage resistance, not hp buffer.
5. Revenge should add a bit less damage.
The revenge mode works fine for my point of view but I agree the friendly fire should be a bit more punitive !! May be it could avoid multiple opponent to rush at you without thinking a bit like dogs in front of a cooked rib eyes piece
Actually I have issues with friendly fire only in close area and when playing without friend.
I totally agree with dmitry32167 about the 100% friendlyfire for bow, grenade, trebuchet and arrows
