Still trying to get on those damn trains

And not having any luck at all.

Surely there must be a really simple way that I'm just being to thick to notice? They cruise around all the map, they're great for sight seeing. What's the point in them if we can't interact with them and jump on?

I'm sure we can, just not quite sure how. They don't seem to stop at any stations either so it's about getting them in the move.

I was more disappointed that I couldn't derail the train, even after planting four C4's lol

My guess is that even if you manage to use a helo to get on the train, you will slide off of it.

I was able to stand in a two person boat, but when my teammate drove the boat, my character slid off.

I imagine if you were on top of a moving car, this would also happen.

The trains are perhaps the one vehicle that isnt made of rubber.

I know this after a head on experiment between myself in and apc and one.

I've tried the following with no success.

    Landing a chopper on it
Walking off a bridge on to it
Blocking the tunnel to stop it
    Parachuting on to it
Walking off a platform on to it
    Shooting it
    Planting C4
    Planting C4 and mines

Guys, I'm starting to think they don't want us on the trains haha

They are all tankers so I certainly didn't even bother trying to land on one of the cars. I did take 3 large white trucks and park them in front of a train bridge in that one large base in the region right east of Itacua (sp?). There was also a giant propane tank right there which I also set mines on the tracks next to it. I expected a huge explosion but the train really just punched the trucks out of the way like ragdolls and they only exploded when near the propane tank. One of the trucks actually mostly survived shockingly. I wanted a bigger boom. :-(

I agree, currently it's a matter of luck if you manage to get on top and stay there without falling like one person did in the closed beta.

But yes, they should be useful in the game. There should be train stations not just trains wandering around. The "sliding off vehicles" thing needs to be eliminated. These things will all improve the realism of the game. Now that the basic platform is in place, I'm hoping we will see these kind of improvements in future versions.

Have you ever tried car surfing?
