Errors using Ps4 controller on pc

Im not sure whether this is related to the bug of no fullscreen for mobile nvidia graphics cards. But I am not able to fully control the game when I try to use a ps4 controller.
Both wired and wireless through bluetooth is quite messed up when and will only sort of work through ds4 windows.

Whatever patch has been recently been put through has made the issue worse, as the frame rate will drop as if the game was lagging when I try to use the controller.

The problem was that when you play the game, and then insert a controller, the game would no longer register any kind of response, through both the controller and the keyboard. This still happens, but if this doesn't happen, then you were in luck. but from here on out, you can't use the mouse and keyboard at all, not if you wanted rumble, now you can no longer use your contoller to play the game without the laptop having a fit. Sometimes there was a problem with L2 and R2 being able to be pressed at the same time so making it impossible to parry, this may have been fixed but it's hard to tell. Since the main bug makes the game unplayable.

So right now, it seems that if you try to the click with the mouse or use the keyboard, then you can do that, but using the controller becomes not possible due to sever frame drop. I find this rather annoying because I both can't speak to people through text chat, and I can't record game play, so quite infuriating

please fix this properly, I have checked thoroughly through my side with different games (and updated drivers), and it is not a problem on my end, there's a major bug in this game.

did you try playing without DS4windows? it is causing issues after latest patch.
Close DS4windows, connect your controller and then start for honor

This was also a problem before, still hasn't been fixed. When I don't use DS4 windows, there is no rumble/vibration (I find this very annoying).

It doesn't have the frame drop, but this isn't really a full solution, since I am not able to use my Game DVR (my recording software) through the controller

If this is the solution, then there needs to be a patch that will fix the vibration. I can't stand using a controller without vibration

Also the uplay client doesn't register the controller is connected without ds4 windows being turned on

the problem here is that PS4 controller is a DInput device, thats why there is no vibration.
When you use DS4windows, you emulate a Xinput device, which has vibration.

There is a fix to use DS4windows: launch the game with the Launch Argument /nodinput
you can launch arguments in the for honor game page on uplay->properties->Add launch arguments

ahh, that explains a little, thanks.

But sorry I'm not seeing any change/fix to the problem. am I missing something?
I got to the launch arguments and I put in exactly

    /nodinput

I tried with ds4windows and it still screws up when I press a key or mouse click after the game starts

Sorry for the late reply, windows 10 update screwed up my laptop

Holy crap! that actually worked! both vibration and being able to use all functionalities!

Thank you so much! I don't know what to say, this has been driving me nuts for weeks

    Thank you again

there have been a few times when I lose lock on randomly, but it's rare, still huge improvement
