Honestly the amount of steel given vs the amount required to buy anything is nuts...

I dig for honor. I do. I have played every daily and probably 90% of the contracts. I'm wearing down though.

Some matches pay under 40 steel. One outfit costs $15000. I don't buy weapon packs anymore under purple tier and then sparingly, I'd like to, I'd like my characters to look cool etc, but that means never getting the stuff I really want, which will take years to acquire if I don't give up first (and realistically, I'm not going to play every day for years, few of us will). $5000-$7000 per execution, $5000 for one emote, $5000 for one hat accessory.

I get that Ubisoft wants people to buy steel, but they're making it too hard to get naturally, and even IF I wanted to buy steel I never would because you can literally spend $140 Canadian to get $150,000 steel. That is 10 outfits. Not even one per class. For $140 dollars.

Stuff straight up costs too much. And matches pay too little. The event for 1000 steel and a crate was nice, but we got exactly one so far.

Much as I've enjoyed the first month or so, this game guards it's gear behind a paywall like a mobile game. And if you earn the dailies and do the bounties, you make virtually nothing, and the game insists you come back on a daily basis to make more. Why, in a $60 non-free to play title can't we play according to our schedules, when and how we want, and reap the same rewards. Without contracts, battles pay so little they're barely noticeable.

I don't speak for everyone, but I'm fairly dedicated, and I can say that despite that I think long term this game short-changes the fun factor by making earning loot far too hard and far to pricey. Buying steel should be a convenience, not a must (and I doubt I ever will), but I straight up chuckled when I realized 10 outfits would cost double the price of the game to buy.

That's pretty out there, Ubisoft. We all paid $60-$80 for the experience as it is.

I had 12,000 before the weekend, I played normally doing orders and so on and had 20,000 last night.
Could have bought any number of the things you are talking about.
    Could have bought 3 x Ornaments, 3 x Executions, 3 x Emotes.
I bought a load of crates instead and got my Conqueror into blue gear, and I still have 8,000 at the moment.
Tomorrow that will be 9,000 and by the weekend I will be back up to 15,000.
    Not seeing the problem.
Easy to get lots of steel, enough for at least one of these wonderful must have things (sarcasm) per week.

I kind of thought the same at first, but then when you actually think about it you get a lot of steel as long as you at least do the daily orders every day. Just doing that gets you 600 steel every day not including the steel you get from the matches you play. If you do some contract orders in addition and lets be honest most people probably don't do them all so lets just say you do 3. That means every 2 days you get 1500 steel just from the orders again not including the matches you played. We'll say you play 15 matches to get that done over the 2 days, say about 30 steel a match depending on mode. that's another 450 steel.

So every 2 days you can get around 1950 steel just in mostly casual gaming. Seems fine to me, but what isn't fine is having to purchase things like idle, execution, and emote effects both separately for each character and separately for each type(emote, idle, execution). That's the only problem I have with steel purchases, 15k steel just to get an effect unlocked for all 3 uses? Pretty ludicrous.

It is not that hard to get 1000 steel daily, but it is very hard to get any more than that.

In a case if I main just one character, ignoring gearing up / ornamenting / emote upgrades completely for all other characters; and then for that one character I picked if I decide which specific ornament / emote I want then in a month or so I would be able to get that. But this is pretty much in line with what F2P models offer for their free players.

We payed 60$ for a game that has very little content that you cycle through; and the core of the game is not even working as intended neither in terms of technical stability aspect, nor in terms of balanced gameplay.

Considering all above I think the ratio of steel income / cosmetic costs are indeed very high.

In its current situation game is trying to tap into best business aspects of F2P genre, while asking for the full price of AAA complete games; all the while offering the gameplay stability that is way below majority of F2P games in the last decade.

Hey kid, here is an ice cream for $15, if you want a waffled cone that's $5 more, if you want chocolate sauce $3 more, and any toppings costs 2$ each.

Oh by the way we seem to have a technical issue with our refrigeration system, so the ice cream is all melted; but dont worry one day in the future we hope to fix that issue *in muffled voice* by putting a shader on top so sun cant melt it even more, and we will put some ice cubes around containers. Because our ice cream would not taste properly in actual refrigerators!

    ENJOY!

Exactly. Above all I dislike the mobile game style "You must log in every day to play, and if you don't, we limit what you can do so you're encouraged to".

This isn't plants vs zombies 2. Why can't I play to full effect when I choose? And make enough steel to do the things I want to without following some weird addiction schedule? It seems very built around selling versus earning steel.

I mean I have some high level guys and I put in the hours, but this game feels like GTA V online when it first released. I saved three months in that game back when missions paid like $1000-$2000 and you lost $100 for every death for a single vehicle. There should be a little steel to spread around on crates etc, it shouldn't be limited to 600 steel a day plus the bounties and everything beyond that pays virtually nothing.
