I play the Warden exclusively and noticed in the latest patch the unblockable shoulder bash can now be guard broke.
This very troubling as this is the one move the Warden has that makes him viable being that his attacks are: 1.) easily telegraphed and 2.) slow
Other things I have noticed:
I have been what appears to be "guard broke" while performing heavy attacks against the Raider and Law Bringer. I was clearly in the middle of the swing animation and then, BAM, guard broke.
My understanding is that guard break should only work against opponents who are....guarding.
I know that if I try to guard break an attacking opponent I am severely punished.
Guardbreak by definition is just that, a GUARDbreak. A shoulderbash is not a guard stance.Originally Posted by Arkhos1988 Go to original post
The Warden desperately relies on shoulderbash as his movesets are slow and easily telegraphed. (because his attacks are so straightfoward)
If the Warden's shoulderbash is guard breakable, then ALL characters "unblockable" attacks should be guardbreakable. And if that's the case, why not remove unblockables all together? Do you see where this is going? The guardbreak button then becomes, "Press this button to interrupt all attacks". Who needs to guard, parry, or dodge when you can just press the magical guardbreak button to interrupt all attacks?
While I agree unless it is intended to do so, Shoulder Bash should not be GB ed.
However, developers need to figure out its counter play and make it viable, since it has absolutely no counterplay, and only way to avoid is to disengage fight and rollback.
This is horse crap. I anticipate that warden will shoulder bash, I see it coming, I have every means of reacting in time; yet there are no options to do so.
Either side dodge, or GB, or light poke should be able to punish it. Otherwise you have a move that has all sorts of rewards with 0 risks at your hand. That's why last tournament was full of Wardens who do nothing but shoulderbash or feint shoulderbash. That's literally all they do.
And when warden does a zone as mix up all audience jump in awe and excitement in that unexpected turn of events. /sarcasm
