Yeah, it's frustrating. I was in a building. Asked rebels to cause some ruckus at the base entrance so i could leave unoticed. Enemies came straight to where i was hiding.
Another time, i was on a rooftop unseen. Friends got spoted. Two seconds later a mortar hit me.
Does it happen in every difficulty mode? I was playing on extreme.

I can call in mortar on the power generator (from distanse) not getting detected. Some times a sniper or a chopper spot me (lens flair?) and they come. If I dont engage and get unseen to another location, Im good to go again after a while. I can completely understand the frustration about they sometimes have telepathic abilities, but with us having 50 cal snipers, drones, binoculars, thermal vision, markers (if you use them) and what not, Im totaly ok with even out the battle field.Originally Posted by Eeskie2982 Go to original post
Doesn't matter what difficulty. It's an issue with all recent Ubisoft games......there is no stealth. Far Cry 4, Far Cry Primal, Division and Assassin's creed Unity and beyond. All the enemies know exactly where you are as soon as you initiate combat, and they are all expert shots and can throw grenades to defy physics. Examples that infuriated me: Far Cry Primal - I take my time setting up my pets to attack from the far side of a camp, fly my eagle over head and drop bombs from the complete opposite side of the camp, enemies ignore my bear charging them and start chucking spears right at me within a matter of seconds....no stealth here. Assassin's Creed Unity - assassinate someone walking by while hidden in a group, soldiers find body and start shooting me even while I am hidden....and through hundreds of people in the crowd around me, and of course the division, doesn't matter where you shoot from, how hidden you are the mobs turn and start shooting you with no hesitation or searching for you. Ubi AI sucks, makes it so they always know immediately where you are and can't miss. I have to take breaks from these games after a bit because of frustration.
I... So... Agree! And I hate it. I love stealth and I aswell try to play the game as if it was real life. I sneak, I use silencer for more or less everything and I would LOVE to be able to sneak up on enemies and use some more hand do hand, but well well... I still love the game tho... But it really needs some really important fixes to go from a 9 to a 10 so to speak!
Dont get me started on the stealth issue of this game.
I have been trying for a day and more times than I can remember to do a single mission, "The truck Depot" in Koani sector.
I'm supposed to enter the base undetected, but no matter how I approach the base and the mission I get detected every single time.
I'm on the ground 300 meters away behind a rock in prone position at night, yet still they are somehow able to detect me no matter what I do, even when doing nothing I still get detected.
I tried doing as the mission briefing suggests, steal a nearby truck and drive it into the base.
I can get into the base and the mission objective changes to me having to find a document, but what is not said is that I have to remain undetected.
Thing is that once I get into the base I get detected almost instantly while still in the truck, even if there is no hostiles in line of sight.
I tried clearing out the base before going in, using the drone and sync shot.
Dont matter what side I try to approach from, eventually I get detected even when doing nothing.
Its like the enemy has some kind of omni vision and can see me anywhere at any time no matter what I do
All this even on the easiest difficulty.
The problem is that without this behaviour from AI the game would degenerate in to a game where people sit in mountainsides 300+m away and does nothing but launch mortar strikes. I agree that the way game balance is achieved in this sense feels a bit broken at times, but I can understand why it's done, from a design perspective.
The NPC soldiers AI could use a bit of tweaking.
As for the mortar thing...yeah not good. The mortars frequently come from a different location yet they come after you...weird...maybe they are psychic. I usually shoot and run to a different location if they alert. They get bored of looking real fast and walk away. Helicopters are easy..just shoot them down with an LMG.
My cousin and I were playing earlier. A guy spots us, but doesn't fire a single shot. We drop him with a silencer on and the whole base has alarms going off, enemy has us pin pointed.. beyond annoying.
They need to steal a page from far cry. Guys have to actually run to the alarms to trigger it. And the whole base isn't aware to your exact location
