PVE improvements/fixes for no hub players on extreme difficulty
First of all, thanx Ubisoft I'm really enjoying the game so far.
With like 60 hours in the closed and open beta, and now 50 hours in the Full release it is time to give some feedback. Hoping the devs are working on these issues.
I loved the old Ghostrecon series, and played them a lot. But I'm not going to compare it with Graw2 for example.
I've been waiting for something like Wildlands to fullfill some tactical gameplay on console, as that is something I've only been doing with ArmA on pc bij the lack of anything comparable on console.
Now wildlands is no ArmA, but since I play wildlands the same way as I do ArmA, here is my feedback and what needs fixing or adding.
I'm not going to talk about the CooP part, but purely about Solo PVE on Extreme difficulty with no Hud.
There are some flaws in the No Hud gameplay that look like they are not tested properly or tested at all.
When you disable ALL hud elements, you basicly disable everything. Right.. that's the point.
- But there are a couple of situations where this breaks apart and that is mainly when you need to get intel , you grab an enemy and the game promps you to press a key for a certain action. THAT is the only time I don't mind having something on screen when I'm playing in no hub mode!
-When you turn everything off you have to rely heavily on reading the map. That's what we do in ArmA to get from A to B. You learn to read the map, look at landscape features and figure out where to go. To not break immersion fully in some situations I would like to keep the minimap on screen. HOWEVER, I play on extreme mode without hud because I do not want markers on screen everywhere to show me where the tagged and seen enemies are.. But they do show up on the minimap! Please make it an option to disable enemy locations on the minimap and in the map!
-Add a Lean function! Why is this not in the game. Look at rainbow six. I lost count of the amount of times I died because I HAVE to expose myself because I cannot Lean around a corner. I know there is an over the shoulder look, but I suggest adding the same lean as in rainbow six. I case of wildlands When you are in RDS mode with the left trigger pulled, make it so that when you press the right or left stick the character leans to that side! That makes cqb a hell of a lot more tactical and immersive. I feel like I have to fiddle with the controls and find a good angle for nothing.. end up having to stand up or move in and get instashot. Having a lean function makes it so you do not have to expose you entire body and make that engagement a hell of a lot more survivable.
-Enable sync shot in extreme mode with the hud off. The squad ai command are sparse, but I do not understand why the sync shot is not working / disabled when I play without a hud. I don't nee to see the markers.. I know that when I press the a button on a spotted enemy it get's marked. But it is currently disabled when you are playing without a hud! I'm in plenty of situation where I tell my squad to hold position, scout with a drone and want to take out maybe 1 or 2 enemies with a sync shot. Please fix this!
Then some suggestions
-I do not know if there is a key left, but it would be nice to be able to enable / disable the minimap with a single button (without the enemy markers on screen!) , just to be able to use it as a sort of compass so you do not have to go in the full map screen everytime.
-I cannot stress this enough, add a Lean function!
-I cannot stress this one enough too, disable enemies in the minimap and map on extreme mode! (or add a ghost mode where this is disabled, I don't care)
And for the future of wildlands, I really really hope that for the Solo players that enjoyed the old GRAW so much you add MORE squad command options!
-Being able to position them individually
-Customize their loadout
Thanx for listening, looking foreward to many many more hours in Wildlands.
Great job so far ubisoft.
And kudos to the environment artists, It has so much variety. It's like having multiple of my favorite environments from ArmA in a single map on a console.
Libertad for example really feels like chernarus from time to time.
Finally here's the link to Skill Up's video about the same issues.
