Bought via steam, runs via Uplay (Horrible Idea) - Twice now i've lost my save file, both times i've been able to re-load my save from the main menu whilst still in game, but come next morning - boom! Game boots up as if it's the first time and I'm only given the option to start a new campaign..I've lost about 13 hours to this ridiculous issue that shouldn't even be happening.
No idea whether the saves are meant to be stored in a Uplay folder or a steam folder, regardless- i've looked around and cant find them anywhere, I even enabled cloud save sync on uplay which hasn't helped in the slightest.. The game is literally unplayable for me because of this. What a joke!
The same thing has happened to me as well so.... is that it I will have to do what I did all again? if so, that was a complete waste of 89 hours of my life and am not doing the campaign again for it to possibly happen again come on Ubisoft this is a joke
.Plus on the other hand, I've been waiting for support to get back to me about it an I submitted it yesterday but still no response.
Hi there, sorry to hear you've lost so many hours of gameplay due to your progress being lost!
It sounds like your Cloud Save may have become corrupted.
Could you try these steps to generate a clean save and fix the cloud saves?:
1. Disable sync in Uplay
2. delete save folder
3. start game and create new character.
4. do some stuff, get auto saved and quit the game
5. Enable sync in Uplay again
6. Start the game, It will prompt you with a choice between the local savegame and the cloud save game from the sync.
7. Choose local savegame.
8. you can now continue playing without having to create a new char again
That did not work at all every time I turn my sync off then start the game, make a new character got in game shot few guys backed out to the menu and its says continue campaign so I quit the game and turn sync on dose not give me the choice between local or cloud and it just still deletes itself again so I repeat myself and turn sync off start the game make a new character do a few things to get an auto save back out to the menu and its say continue campaign so with that am happy to know it saved what I did next was quit the game and this time I did not turn on the cloud sync and then I started the game up it still deletes and starts up like a new game
Did you delete the save folder after disabling save sync in Uplay?

Yea I got it to work in the end and can load up like normal but its the new character tho level 1 were is my old save ? their must be a back up or something I really don't want to do that all again.
Iam in the same boat was fine until last night...now it tries to start a new game everytime!!20ish hours played here. Come on Ubi this is unacceptable!!!! Support ticket sent in yesterday as well....

If you are unable to attach a file because it is too big to attach, please compress the file into a .zip folder using a program such as Winzip which is free.
