Same problem here. I still don't know how I passed it. It was terrible. It looks like El Pulpos reactions are not working, many times he was just standing in the middle of the road, and he was jumping in and out from the chopper/taking off and landing back when he reached the airport, and after a sudden completion of the mission he just crash into the land. o.O
This mission is exceptionally broken either in intended game play or just general games design.
The mechanics of the game in a solo mission are not adaptable enough to support an escort mission where you the player doesn't have direct control over the "escortee". The A.I just doesnt respond ahead of time to threats and can't prioritise the targets in a car. El Pulpo is a donkey that seemingly can't drive fast enough to get away from the enemy, but the moment I have to get out of my vehicle to shoot bad guys he sure knows how to power off into the sunset unchallenged. There is also a Unidad patrol in the area too. So in some re-tries of the mission is spawns in a choppa that if it even sniffs the player wandering about near El Burro it increases the mission difficulty ten fold. Essentially I am told to play the mission like it Splinter Cell but then told to play it like its Rainbow Six, but I have to drive and if I stop to shoot anyone I'm penalised.
Any game that requires pure luck to complete, hoping on the failure of the enemy A.I to path proper or to miss its attacks is not a good game, so why was this mission okayed? - It needs patching to work with the core game mechanics.
Fix this mission!
I completely this by ensuring he took the armoured suv. I achieved that by destroying the other cars from a distance before exits the building. I had an armoured suv courtesy of the rebels standing by. We smashed and shot our way through to the airport. He took off and I finished the helicopters harrasing us with an hti. There limits to what a single player can do. I generally use the ai team as fire support after I’ve done as much stealth stuff as possible. I agree there is a glitch in this mission as el pulpo’s choice of vehicle is critical.Originally Posted by RONMAN1990 Go to original post
Thanks for sharing reKKr2018. If you all are experiencing a glitch with this mission, please provide me with video. Thanks!
I didn't have any issues with the mission, other than the guy set off in an open top vehicle, which seemed... Like a less than stellar idea. We outran the enemies almost from the start and made it to the airport without any issues.
Sorry if this looks like a rant but, the problem for me is that the more i play this game the more i feel i've been gambled
The games tries to be many kind of games and sadly fails at all of them..
Is not an RPG like the division (would have been much much better) because levels and skills are pointless and really change almost nothing
is not a realistic tactical simulation because enemies are like terminators with x-ray (difficulty levels change only reaction times, numbers and hits you need to be dead)
Isnt the game sold as a shooter? so why out of 60 hours gameplay i had i think i passed like 30 roaming in boring roads and such?
Also, why there are like 4 difficulty levels when missions just ramp up randomly because of AI not made for this kind of gameplay?
I always trusted and liked UBI games (i also have 600 hours in the division, etc), and i was even fool enough to purchase wildlands 2 times (uplay & steam) but i guess this will be my last UBI game for quite some time, i dont even think i will preorder the division 2 simply because, i cant really trust anymore the content you will make.
Really sad because this game looked very promising and have lot of potential..probably now only the PVP part is developed because the usual people asked for it even if there are other 4000 better games for competitive pvp...not my problem anymore...luckily tehre are other games in my library and on steam i can purchase..
I will still play some missions but, after 60 hours..i feel like the game is a chore instead of a fun diversive after a day of work...
Thank you anyway and have a nice day!
