The work around stated is for GPU usage, not HDD usage

The excessive usage is noticeable on my (very fast) nvme SSD as well. Don't want to even think about how it will run on a slower SSD or regular HD.

Yes people have had problems with the game not launching because of avast, but this problem is not because of that, please dont just spam in peoples threads with unrelated fixes

I'd like to point out that I did not have this issue at launch, but started around the time of the patch. Interestingly, my wife's PC is not having any issues and we running similar hardware. I'll update this post with some comparisons between her system and mine as soon as I can.

SSD FTW, this game doesn't like mech harddrives, how are those beautiful mountains meant to load quickly?

I've installed the game on both of my hard drives, and my SSD yet the problem persists. Nice try though.
