    Environment kills

There is no need for so many environmental hazards. Really, there is way to many of them! Especially in 1x1 and 2x2 fights. You want to have a duel of fighting skill, but end up trowing people off / avoiding being thrown off, etc. And some maps are just ridiculous, clearly favoring some characters better than others. It would be ok on a big map, where you choose where to go (this is strategy and what not), but at least not in duels.

Turtling should be fought differently. The fact that defensive playstyle currently gives you an advantage does not mean you should be forced to play duels in places that completely unsuitable for that.
Actually, those hazardous maps encourage turtling even more. The difference is that you end a match without the actual fight in most cases. You play fighting game to fight, not to see who can do the first grab.

In war you got limited option where you fight. In all 1v1 and 2v2 maps you can position yourself so you won't be anywhere near environmental hazard. Using brain, is big part in a fight.
