how to break a turtle with a kensei?

For the life of me, I cant find a good strategy on fighting higher lvl warlords. im a rep 6 kensei, so i have a decent amount of experience on how to play em. i tried all sorts of methods with feinting and cancelling heavies and etc.

so for all my fellow kenseis, how do u deal with this?

Unfortunately, there is no reliable way.

There are a few things you can try.
    1. Turtle with them, eventually they will have to attack. Warlord will probably just headbutt, so all you can really do is just try to time it and do a side dodge + GB. But the tracking and hitbox on that headbutt is funky, so keep that in mind.

2.Condition them with constant guardbreak. What I mean is you just keep doing GB, with feints and all that crap. They will break out of the GB for sure, but once you spam enough GB, they would want to start punish you. That is when you toss in a top light to catch them off guard.

    3. Buffer Unblockables to force mix-up. If they turtle, you can keep distance and buffer into unblockables to force mind-game. They would most likely want to parry it, so manual feint, and go for GB or top light.

None of these really solve anything, but there really isn't much you can do.
You have to be a league better than your opponent to win if they play turtle game, it is a sad truth Kensei players have to live with.

The only real way for me right now is to feint everywhere and expect a heavy to parry opening. (The 6 frames at 30 fps guard switch speed makes it the only way)

Being creative with feinting is the key atm.

Keep dancing in front of the turtle with feints while waiting for him to initiate. Then fish for a parry/gb/quick top light. Swift strike reactively. Warlords i tend to stay more in range so i can easily see the headbutt coming. For conq, you have to get close for them to take the bait.

Found it, worked really well too. Out turtle the turtle lmao, worked against a lot of high rep guys. Not a fan of the strat and it contradicts my play style but hey, it works.
