1. Uninstall GeForce Experience and AMD Gaming Evolved App.
2. Next make sure your PC is setup for High Performance under Power Settings
Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options\.
3. Next open Google Chrome(if you use it) Settings - Advanced Settings - System - Un-check both boxes there for running chrome in background and using hardware acceleration.
4. Had same problem, but fixed it. Go to here C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\Tom Clancys Ghost Recon Wildlands.
Right click on folder and go to Properties- Security.
Starting with "All Aplication Packages" click on edit and check the allow box, then apply. Do this for each one in the list. The only one that you will not be able to change is "Creator Owner". If you also have other UbiSoft games then you can do the main UbiSoft folder instead C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft. Which will change the permissions for alll their games.
Next you need to change the sound settings.
Right click on the volume icon next to the clock (lower right screen) click on "Open Volume Mixer" Next click on "Applications System Sounds"
Next the "Playback Tab"
Highlight your sound device, then click properties tab ( lower right)
Then Advance Tab.
Unckeck box that says" Allow Applications to take exclusive control of this device".
Reboot PC and try game.
You can also do this for the main Ubisoft folder and it will do all the subfolders if you have other games from them.
Ok ive been taking a keen interest in this crashing to desktop for a while now seems it happening to me every day every 5 minutes to 30 minutes. Got sick to death of it happening so ive decided to post here as well.
Lucky for me i didnt pay for this game i got it free with my new GTX 1080TI with the Nvidia promo. But still its GOD DAM annoying. I am actually loving this game. But its unplayable atm with some many crashes.
I basically done everything everyone else has done on this forum and from other websites on this topic. Ive updated drivers,-reinstalled the game. Got rid of background tasks to name only a few. Nothing seems to work at all. It keeps crashing to desktop without any error messages. Sometimes it BSOD as well but 9 times out of 10 its just crashes to deskstop. And no i have not got any hardware problems, all checked, my system runs fine.
Someone else on another forums mentioned that it could be down to G-SYNC, I do play at 1440p with a DELL 144hz 1ms, G-Sync Monitor.
Can the devs check out if its g-sync or monitor drivers which could be causing this problem please.
My system specs are.
4770k Not overlocked.
16 GIG 2400mhz Ram
Gigabyte GTX 1080TI
Windows 7 64Bit
SSD Drive to run Ghost Recon off.
DELL 1440p 144hz G-Sync.
Play on Ultra Settings. I get between 56 to 80 FPS. Mostly in the late 60 to 70 range. The odd time it goes down to 56. The game also stutters the odd time when changing direction for a second, then goes back to normal.
I also play some other games which are fine. Its only this game which is having problems.
lets hope all the data i send to Ubisoft when i crash to desktop EVERYDAY every time i play this game will help sort this **** out.![]()
