I'm getting the same error however I have no antivirus installed. I tried EAC repair service, EAC uninstall and reinstall, Uplay verfy the game files and the same thing again after manually removing EAC and in the end uninstalling and reinstalling the whole game and I'm still getting the same error. And I've only had the game for about a month.
You could also take a look at the steps in our Easy Anti Cheat error message FAQ.
I tried that. It takes me to EAC support site where it suggests the problem has something to do with an outdated Windows Certificate Store. For a moment I thought this might actually be the case, since I'm still using Windows 7. Even though it is fully and regularly updated. There is also a link to some GlobalSign root certificates, so I manually installed all three of them and then even my Uplay got updated today. However in the end I'm still getting the same error.
Maybe somebody can check this for me. There is a game.cer certificate file in Wildlands\EasyAntiCheat\Certificates\ folder. If I open it, it says that it is valid until 2096 but at the top there is a note that "Windows does not have enough information to verfy this certificate." Can somebody check if the get the same message with this certificate?
Meanwhile I'll try to provide my Windows with the "information" it needs to verify this.
