    Wildlands = Guerrilla Warfare Goldmine

There has been quite a bit of criticism about Wildlands from both gamers, youtubers, and professional critics. The game is not without issues for sure (A.I. being #1 IMO) and hopefully the developers will patch accordingly. One critique I have often seen is...

Lack of mission variety, repetition, and general mediocre game-play.

Based on my experience with the game, that could not be further from the truth. Given the scenario, Ubisoft did their homework and effectively replicated "A Covert War on Drugs" in south america. I am not sure what people were expecting in regard to the amount of mission types that would be involved in such an environment. The main story line is diverse and side missions tie on well overall.

One is only limited by one's own creativity on how to play the missions and engage the enemy, while travelling in the world. It is rare for a military oriented game to throw a player into a truly open-world with the amount of freedom that is offered in Wildlands.

Wildlands is hands down "excellent implementation" full of content with some ruff edges, but never a dull moment.

Agree with this, even with its problems (and I have the deadly PS4 error code of random crashing) it is such an incredible game with PLENTY of options and variety of experience. Glad to see that a good amount of people in this community seem to be able to see the good and the bad simultaneously.

If the game had shipped with less bugs and more solid AI. I would give it GOTY..

    Totally agreed with your points.

I would like to see missions about blowing up (not steal) the drug plane cargos (Like in Clear and Present Danger)

Or rescue operations for important hostages (Like in Proof of Life movie or Mark Bowden book "Killing Pablo")

Or CSAR style missions either... There are plenty of real-life scenarios where the devs could inspire to add original missions to expand Wildlands; but after watching Narco Road DLC I'm getting skeptical about this, they are heading to a gangster-style open world (I really hope this is not the case)

Always room for additions and I do like your ideas. I would definetly want to see a hostage rescue scenario that was built up from gathering intel first to main mission execution. Throw in fast roping option from helios, and it would excellent.

I understand the concern on Narco Road. However, I am going to hold off judgement until I see how the missions are incorporated.

I agree, I wouldn't be posting my butt off about issues if the game wasn't worth trying to fix. The issues are there, but the game is superb, and I would really just like to see the edges smoothed out and refined. i know it can be hard to tell because sometime an issue really pisses people off, but the game is damn good!

    -Hostage rescue missions.

-Area Defense Missions could be a building, or crash site (if done right not a cliche progressive wave system but maybe one large ground assault (enemies on foot not in cars) on a position followed by escape and evasion of that area with increased patrolls in a several square kilometer area) could be great.

-CSAR (Combat search and rescue) missions could be good, have one be able to use govt assets like a predator drone, maybe resupply drops and have a small chance of the aircraft being shot down and one's team is then retasked with destruction of the crash site and recovery of vital assets/personnel before the enemy finds it and compromises the Ghost team.

-Enemy Checkpoints & Beter mission endings.
At the end of missions when the player has to escort someone to a safe house/rally point one could have to take the package on foot to best evade checkpoints patrols without being detected.

One could also chose to drive the hostage/informant there and dress in civilian clothing trying to get thru the checkpoint/checkpoints without being detected. One might have to bribe the guards at the checkpoint (maybe have some sort of random factor to cause the player to be detected. Or if they don't bribe them well enough they don't let you pass) the catch is that the team only has a certain amount of cash to bribe people with for the entire game, be that guards or civilians (to get intel or to not have the civilians not give you up to the enemy, depending on the relative distance or scope of influence the cartel has on the civilians they would be more or less inclined to help or rat you out.) if it goes south at the checkpoint maybe they kill the person the team is escorting, or the team is compromised.

I'd like to see some missions where you have to reinforce a group of rebels that have been ambushed by the Cartel or UNIDAD.

They could implement it by having rebels populate bases that you clear-out during story missions. A rebel controlled base under-attack, could be initiate as a rebel side mission and you would get a call for support to defend.

Totally agree. Honestly, to me, the AI teammates are just there to revive me when I go down, and for sync shots. Theyre really not too combat effective, even with the Born Leader skill maxed out. They also get me spotted during missions somewhat often. On top of that, they need to clear the area before they revive the player..Ive been revived too many times only to be killed again immediately. And, on top of THAT, it seems like every fight i get into, i just get abandoned by my team and Im left alone..no ones got my back..

Other than that, I feel like the game affords a solid amount of freedom and diversity, I was actually thoroughly satisfied with the story itself, and the missions. I didnt feel like there was an overwhelming amount of repetition. Of course there was some, but trust me, operations and missions in the real Army get repetitive and monotonous too. And with those two major DLCs (Well, Narco Road looks meh) and free updates, I feel like it can only get better. This game has some serious potential, and I hope Ubisoft recognizes that and pushes to utilize it to their advantage.
