Saw the update was available while playing. Closed the game and waited for the 4Gb download to finish and game stated it was ready to play. Started the game and the beginning cinematics started playing, then my only option was to start a new campaign.
WTF.
My character was level 16 and I had just finished the Security forces of SB.
I have the same issue ,I even started a new game and it will not save ,everytime I start the game it has a new campaign .Im on my 4th character wtf?
Any soloution? I think its a corrupt save in the cloud. How can you access the cloud saves?
Have exactly the same issues..
2017-03-14 was the last evening i played on my main save, was lvl 25 and had done about 55% of the game.
2017-03-15 when i was going to continue playing, i got the cinematics again, and the HUG / gamma settings, and all i could click on was " New Campaign "...
i restarted the game and got the cinematics etc again, and had only " New campaign " to click on.
So the patch is the issue, that has deleted the game save??

This problem is not the uplay cloud sync.
Im having same issue and i have tried the following.
-Reinstalling
-Reinstalling on another drive
-Reinstalling uplay and deleting all uplay files first.
-Verifying the game
-With cloud sync on
-Without cloud sync on
And in all cases the issue still persist

The default location of these saves for both Steam and Uplay are as follows:
Uplay PC:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\<account_id> \1771
Steam PC:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\<account_id> \3559
If you are unable to attach a file because it is too big to attach, please compress the file into a .zip folder using a program such as Winzip which is free.
Once it's uploaded, could you let me know your ticket number and I'll make sure to pass it on.
Same happended to me, had to start all over.
Not only did it delete my char, it was replaced with another char that wasnt mine.
And today when i checked my profile, the Taskforce i created doesn´t exist anymore. Very strange.
