No way, at least not in a big kind of way LOL If I'm not mistaken, number one esport fighting game is currently Street Fighter 5. This game doesn't hold a candle to it.

I honestly think if they listen to the fans and rework some combat mechanics they can totally make this into a really fun to watch esports game. If they do try i could see in 3-5 months this game being much better than it currently is. It can be fun, but there's a lot of **** that needs to be tweaked to make it really entertaining to watch.

It's just too broken at the moment.

Issues aside like limited/no proper casting tools, the fights in events usually involve the same few classes (Snorelord, PK, Conq & Warden) and the defensive meta is now at the point where it's bordering on being unwatchable (look how few people watch For Honor on Twitch now).

The maps also need a major re-work. Specialised duel/brawl and event maps are needed.

Esport is a fantasy. The game released too early and needs a LOT of work.

I feel there's no place in duels (or even brawls) for enviromental kills. Every time you end up near a ledges in a duels the game turns into a "GB match" to prevent being thrown down ledges or into spikes and accordinly, I try to do the same because I know if I don't, he will. This dumbs down the fighting system altogether. It's like you have this beautiful combat, but suddenly, in the midst of the fight, you ended up near spikes and it changes the whole fight into something just not fun. If I want to dodge "holes" in the ground I'll go play Mario bros.

At Pax today so far its Dominion matches. Will be interesting to see if they do Duels/Brawls later.

If they're smart, they won't.

This game won't be an esport. They removed the current online population from the social tab for a reason.
