Hey,
So I'm doing way, way better. You're so wrong about not being effective in 1v1 scenarios. Heavy feinting and parrying wins the day most of the time. I can handle Orochi, now, mostly due to their predictable nature. They aren't too fast for me.
Nobushi and PK are still rough. I've beaten a lot more PKs now and I think I can defeat most of the average PKs, which is good enough, but the good PKs are a challenge and can usually beat me because I can't reliably parry them. My only hope is to bait them into their heavies and parry those. Nobushi, though, attack so damn fast. I don't think I've ever parried their light attacks, I pretty much just get lucky with my superior damage.
I have discovered the frustration of Valkyries, however, it's mostly due to inexperience fighting against them as no one has been using them until recently. I'm going 99 rounds against a level 3 Valkyrie later today to learn the best counters for them and how to parry their attacks reliably.
The goal is to be able to take anyone down in 1v1, because even in 4v4 battles you will sometimes be in 1v1 situations. I think 1v2 is the best situation for a Raider, though, as we truly shine in revenge mode lol.
If I could give you advice on PK, what i normally do is immediately start flailing heavy chains if they are a good distance away. For some reason, they never parry and are anxious crack heads. More often than not they usually dive after the first swing, never expecting the ridiculous arc of a side heavy. It almost always connects, they'll trade with you sometimes but their damage compared to yours is laughable

A lot of Nobushi's have predictable patterns that you can capitalize on too. When approaching, many will open with either the dodge forward bleed/light or the dodge back bleed/light, both of which are high attacks, so keep your guard high when closing. Their main chain is Heavy(or hidden stance)-> Kick->Light high bleed (which I don't believe can be blocked if the kick lands), and then often the side step heavy attack to start the cycle all over again. The weak link in that chain is the kick. Learn to dodge the kick and they're wide open.Originally Posted by Kharneth88 Go to original post
