There is NO lore reason why. And why is that you ask? Because this not a Role Playing Game it is a Fighting game.

The 3 factions were on the brink of forging peace, so Apollyon started a new war. She baited all 3 factions into bringing their armies to the same place knowing that armies serve only one purpose: They War.

I believe what she said at the end of the game was, '...here you all are...with your armies...What did you think would happen?" Then the soldiers start to fight each other.

I think you have it backwards, there is a lore reason why not. The Factions would not fight side by side like they do, they are locked in 'a milennia of conflict, the reason they fight lost to the ages'. The single player story is the lore.

Also the game is really half RPG / MMO and half fighting game. We have levelling up and stats that get better as you get better gear, with rarities of gear / colour coding of gear mirroring most of the major MMOs. Loads of other customizations as well including an inventory full of items you can manipulate. The very subject this thread is about, the Faction we pledge our allegience to and how that is represented in the game, tells you it is not just a fighting game.

Still many flaws i see. Why did they start this mess? Why Vikings united with Knights and Samurai to fight against Vikings, Knights and Samurai? Still don't make any sense to me.

Are y'all actually simple...? You realize how bad of a choice that would be if implemented in the first place right??? The devs aren't going to tell you "You can only play these 4 out of the 12 heros because of the faction you chose when you started up the game. All 12 heros play really differently and have unique movesets but you only get these four for the current season." Do you honestly not realize how actually ******ed that is??? At least from the perspective of players who paid $60 and want to be able to play and experience all of the heros? You're probably in a less than 1% minority here man.
So this is how the maps work: you might notice that in the big war map, each of the three fronts is a different game mode for the current round. This means that if you go into Dominion, which happens to be on the knights vs samurai front, then the minions on the battlefield will be knights and samurai. In addition, the weather or time of day on the map will be determined by the front also: knights tend to get daytime, samurai nighttime, and vikings snow. The actual map is completely independent of the front; you can get a viking map on the samurai vs knights front.
