I agree. In single player when you are playing with the AI it is a nice feature to have in. However, there are times they start talking at the wrong times, like when you find a new kingslayer document and are listening to a recording or something and they start talking over it. THAT SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN!

When in Co-op play with other live players this needs to be turned off. Sometimes the group has less than 4, and yet there are 4 people still talking. How can this be? It definitely needs to be removed from Co-op play all together and I believe tweaked some in single play.

I don't hate the jokes, personally, but I absolutely require a way to turn off the random chatter while playing cooperatively. Me and my real teammates had to scream over our NPC teammates last night to make ourselves heard.

These are the words of someone who has never had to deal with the ebbs and flows of life in a Combat Zone. You would be shocked at some of the things 'Grunts' do in the field to stay entertained. Joking/kidding with each other and telling dirty jokes is part of the environment and is constant LOL!

Heck, I used to do a great rendition of the song Lollipop by The Chordettes twirling around my M16A2 Service Rifle while I sang and danced. Guys would be absolutely dying from laughter!

I (speaking for a former Marine) will attest that the joking around in between mission is absolutely part of the emersion process and if you don't like it...join the Chair Force. I hear they whisper sweet nothings to each other and pass around teddy-bears between Ops.

When I served in the Falklands, and was pulling body parts out the water, we joked about jigsaw puzzles and how this bit didn't fit that bit.

Its a coping mechanism to defend the stress, we would make stupid jokes all the time. The Military is based on sarcasm, and we always said......if you can't take a joke you shouldn't have joined up

The jokes I've all heard before when I was in.. The levity is how many people deal with the tensions of combat. Enlist and go to war.. and lets see how you talk aftewards...

My language and mentalities are forever changed after serving. Most of the time Civvys dont get me anymore,
Whoa I didn't realize the Wildlands writer posted on the forum!

Only banter I want/like should be how it was in GR 1.... They did this to bring back GR 1 feeling when your guys have brief banter before and after every mission. Somewhat sarcastic but still serious.. The only thing is this is -open world- so you have to have it randomly throughout their travels. In the Beta I felt it was too much and too stupid. Like it has nothing to do with the mission at hand. At least in the first one the banter was mission op specific.

the one thing I did like that they brought back were the kill shot hits. When I was playing Beta and my guy first said "That's a kill" then the circle reload icon came up and I had a bit of Nostalgia. Only thing is the voice is always the same. I do miss being able to form my squads the way I want then strategically place them on the map and when they die they die and you just lost your 4 star support with the RPK. They hit me with Nostalgia too when the reporter asks your guy "I heard you guys had something to do with the Moscow incident" an the response "No, never heard of it"

Sorry I went off topic but wouldn't a old school GR 1 based in an open world be the way to go? Maybe have it like they did MGS 5 and you choose your Op's and crew and can -deploy- but go back to a home base sort of thing to recruit new squad members if they die? I dunno.. I get they are doing a 'survival infiltration' thing where they stuck these 4 dudes in the wild and said "go, blend in" It is a different take.. I want to give it a chance but it doesn't feel new. GR 1 was unique.. no shooter was like it... This one is like GTA + MGS5 + Just Cause + Division with some GR themes...

The airsoft analogy is actually very accurate. I ran a team for 12 years before joining the Army and when I look at airsoft now, it's a total fashion show of brand names, camo types, weapon modding, and BOY does GRW pander to that crowd (character editor, gunsmith) Basically, it seems like Ubi wanted to make ARMA for the mass airsoft community. (For the record, there are definitely some serious MilSim airsoft groups, but we all know they are not the majority.)

I wish the game would just decide what it wants to be. Just Cause/GTA or ARMA/Ghost Recon?
