So here is the official reasoning behind why the US get their national flag for free and the rest of the world have to fork out cash for theirs.

Since The Ghost's canon country of origin is the United States, as they are a squad of U.S. Army Special Forces from Delta Company (1st Battalion, 5th SFG), the US flag is included by default.

This is an awful excuse. If they are going to rely on canon to rip us off then they should know that no real unit from the US would run around conducting illegal black ops with identifying patches on their gear... or with bright pink paint on their weapons. All the national flag patches should be free!

If you want them to make flag patches free, you have to suggest a replacement item that Ubisoft can make cash off of. After all, Ubisoft is about microtransactions above all else.

Make more weapon skins. Be creative and put new camo patterns on there. Done.

Agreed. This is a bad decision from Ubisoft.
Even if it "doesn't fit the canon story" of the game (but I guess having a Llama t-shirt or patch does ?)

People always feel a great attachment to their country, so this is a basic custom element...
You either have NO option other than USA "because it's a US only unit according to the story and we stick to the story" or you do allow ALL country patches to all players for free so everyone is happy and treated equally...

But don't sell country patches / facepaints separately...

Kinda limits immersion when you're playing as your own country's special ops team... but aren't allowed the patches.

I'm surprised they didn't include the Quebec flag... guess there's still time for fleur de lis facepaint like in Siege *eyeroll*

Making you pay for your own country's flag is a bit underhand, if you ask me!

who cares about flag patches nobody sees them anyway, what they should do is sell t-shirt with the flag of every country on it that would be nice for example I want a t-shirt with the flag of Québec on it and I want ''Team Québec'' written on it below the flag... and black the t-shirt.

Its not so much to do with the flags and more to do with the fact that Ubisoft are spitting in the faces of the players by giving one country its flag for free then saying "lore reasons, give us money"

Customization seems to be a big thing in games now a days why not let us design our own logos/Patches? BF1 does..
