Enemy Armor Damage vs. Damage To Elites.

Okay so can someone explain me how this works..

Just got Joe Ferros mask few days ago im using it with barrets chest on a Stiker Build.

Now im wondering what to roll on my mask.

Keep in mind im a pve player and play a lot of incursion on heroic and challenging missions.

What i dont understand is, when it comes to elites is "damage to elites" better the "enemy armor damage"? Does DTE also apply to their armor or not, since you can get higher % on DTE then EAD? Or choose EAD instead of DTE since their heath is low anyway..

    My stats are now 448/320/93

    13% DTE
    50,50% EAD

Well if we have 10% on both values to choose from:

    • 10% DTE Applies to both Health and Armor thus better VS Elites
    • 10% EAD Applies to only Armor, though NPC's have often more armor then health + Applies to 3 archetypes: Named, Elite and Veteran

Also considering Legendary content has all 4 Archetypes, I would actually say EAD has more value overall then DTE.

    Helpfull reply!

And DTE does not apply to named enemies? So a named enemy is a seperate archetype? I tought elites and named are the same since both have yellow bar..

    Thnx

I still haven't been able to get a straight answer from anyone on this question:

Does DTE work against red and purple bars in legendary? Are all legendary enemies considered elite/named? Because if not, it seems like EAD is clear winning to me.

Only yellow and named's are considered elites if I recall. A legendary veteran is still a veteran, not an elite.

DTE only applies to yellow bar enemies, named included.

I run a striker build with 36% DAE and 70% EAD

I shred yellows and purples with no problem... I'm squishy as all hell, but as long as I stay in cover, I can pop out and unload a full clip into a named (including the big guys) and nearly drop them with one 63 round mag.

Named enemies ARE NOT ELITES. Just wait for daily assigment "kill 3 elites" and go and kill LZ boss. It will be not countet to this assigment.

DTE works exatly same as Ferocious weapon talent, It is applied to ELITE and NAMED ememies. Just due to UI limitations and short names of gear attributes there is not possible name it as Damage to Elites and Named ememies, but work that way.

Anyway I allways run Damage to Elites as now it is minor attribute and I rally do not care too much about resistances. I will run EAD on mask, chest and gloves for PvE content and if I have different pieces then I replace EAD for EDR, CHC, Skill Haste for PvP as with current armor values stacked EAD is somewhat 1/3 power from what it was in 1.5 against players.

I currently run My PVE set:
    - Striker: 9K Stamina, DTE: 51% and EAD: 68%

    It just melts...

I think there are mods to increase EAD, but I never seen them? Anyone knows about this?

EAD is probably more useful because an enemy without armor can be killed pretty quickly. Since EAD works with all enemy types I'd take that over DTE.
