As stated, I can't say I'm surprised. It feels like some minor tweaks were made, such as the camera now following the rotation of the player, but it isn't enough to feel good. The camera takes time to catch up. And, of course, there aren't any options to change or edit any of the mechanics. No option to turn on/off camera follow (for anyone who might want it off), or edit how "stiff" it is (that is, how quickly it chases the player's orientation)? Can't make throttle the left stick and rotation the right stick, which would free up the triggers for other options, such as for firing? I'm not even sure why two-stick flight mechanics aren't available to begin with. I mean, seriously, you can cover all four basic movements with two sticks. That's literally all you need. And it would be fantastic to choose which stick performs which action.
And I'm not the first to point out that there are other games that have solid flight controls (*cough* Battlefield 3/4 *cough*), so why couldn't you model yours after theirs? Or, better yet, make both available, since I'm sure there are people out there who just love this dumbed down version you've given us.
No option to invert y-axis in flight only? I mean, c'mon.
Harsh as it sounds, bottom line, this is crap. It's is a complete failure, and it could've easily been avoided.
Really happy that I didn't buy this. Ugh.
You do know that you can set the camera tow ways right? One that allows you to freely rotate the camera, the other is when you use the mouse to actually fly the helo or plane. then the camera is locked and follows you.
The flying is not that bad, The only issues I have with Helos is the trying to uplift and fly forward at the same time, the helo will dip down and descend. Thats the dumb part of this. If they would fix that and make it stead and add a thrust button to propel you forward without dipping down, then the flying would be good.
Isn't that how a chopper works though? If you tilt too far forward, you have move forward movement than lift and start going downward.Originally Posted by Darkxxxx Go to original post
Besides if you hold the Thrust button to get up to the height you want, then tilt forward to start moving forward you can let go of the movement all together. The chopper will level out and continue to move forward as long as you thrust. Let go and it'll stop and let you hover or move up and down again. The chopper controls are a lot better than the people in this forum let on. Not sure if people are too lazy to learn them or just dumb.
In fact I'd rather fly choppers in this game than use ground vehicles. Especially the bikes that decide to slide down hills that I should be able to drive straight, or do 180's or stop completely when hitting a rock I should have been able to go over.
I can live with flying the helicopter but any plane is a **** show. They did tweak it a bit from the beta it feels, but a pile of **** is still a pile **** even when you take the corn out. That being said, I am having fun with everything else in the game aside from the random ****ing Unidad patrols that literally appear out of nowhere just to **** up my stealth when I'm trying to soften up a camp or base.

Definitely not. This thread should just die.Originally Posted by CV_Old_Git Go to original post
How is that even possible? I've never had an issue like this. Unless you swapped your triggers and forgot.Originally Posted by Darkxxxx Go to original post
