should steel be unique to each character to prevent exploiters going AFK on characters they don't like to then use it on their mains?

That would just hurt the more normal scenario that people play on their mains and end up having excess steels which they can use on their alt heroes.

Why wouldn't exploiters just afk on their main anyway? That gives them rank in addition to steel. To not be found out?

Either way, these type of ideas punish everyone for a few. It would be better just to reward based on performance so AFKing would be pointless.

they would afk on a character that they do not like or use and destroy his K/D. then when they want to play they use their main character and use the farmed steel on it.
