I just fought a player who feint heavy from the left, followed by a light from the left. My guard was still on the left and I took full damage, was staggered and chained for 1/3 of my health.
Then I chain a light side into a light top, the light side hits, and the light top gets parried.
Also what is with the 360 degree GB, because I don't think anyone expects to get GB'd by someone they are standing behind.
Its like the rules governing combat change from game to game.
The game has a lot of inconsistencies still on it's design side and within the game which doesn't make a lot of sense. The problem is there is so many rules that differ between characters you interact with it that it frustrates many players, I can only see this getting worst as more characters are added to the roster.
You were probably playing an assassin. As an assassin your directional block is timed and will expire within the same time it takes for a heavy to land. You have to constantly flick your stance around as an assassin or time everything properly. As for your light combo, I don't know who you're playing as, but for virtually every combo you can parry/block the second hit of a light combo.

valkyrie def. plays rather sluggish since the patch (it was the case pre-1.03 but not as bad as it is now).
i have seen this complaint quite a lot the last few days and i personally can feel it too.
her feints sometimes dont work or have a short window, parries and block not registering, light-parries having an insanly tight window at times, dodges getting tracked way too much, etc etc.
its quite the list of stuff that is weird on the valk and on no other class to the same degree.
