The meta has destroyed the movesets

    (Sorry for bad english)
For a long time i thought this game would be my game of the year, the basics of the game are really good, but there are so many things destroying it (mostly the parry + gb combo)

Back in beta i learnt the basics, and i learnt that i where really good at parrying, so i tried to find a charakter that focused on parrying, and since the warlord was the only one with parry in his moveset i chose him.

The big problem is that in his moveset he can do a parry + gb + light, and because of that i thought that he was the only one that can do it, but NO everyone can do it, so why is it showed then???

But the worst thing is that if you do a heavy instead og a light, you do more damange and it is still a guaranteed hit

Because of this and all the knight spamming with warden, conqueror and lawbringer, i dont play the game any more.

This i only one of the many problems, but i just want to know if anyone else have the same feeling, or know a way to break the parry + gb and spam meta?

    Thanks for your time

The Warlord's combo is not parry, guardbreak, light. If you're guardbreaking you are clicking the guardbreak button too late (too slowly). Immediately after you parry you must click the guard break button, it's almost a single button click. It has to be extremely quick right after the parry. You'll know that you've done it right because you will not guard break, you will strike them with the edge of your shield and stun them for like 2 seconds.

Also, Lawbringer has a heavy focus on parrying. Much more than the Warlord. Warlord and Lawbringer are the only ones with parry + ripostes that I know of

lol. so you want to know how to break parry + gb meta? your initial post is a bit confusing. against opponents who parry a lot you need to mix up attacks and use feints. that's pretty much it. if opponents is expecting to parry a light and you'll go for a heavy instead, you'll hit him 90% of the time. the trick is to keep them guessing. feint your heavy and go for a GB instead, if they'll try to parry your feint, you'll get a guaranteed GB. it's all about mix ups.

Yea sorry but not good at English, but i know how to play, and i wrote this before all the fixes came to the guard break system, so i am thinking about starting again. But i am afraid that the meta still exclude much of the move set, and that the community is still toxic.

well, the community will always be toxic up to a certain point. I'd imagine toxicity will increase quite a bit when ranked system will be introduced. you have to grow a thick skin if you want to play competitive online games. I played League for a few years, bit of DOTA and Overwatch, so I learned to deal with toxicity - it doesn't bother me one bit. as for the move sets - it varies. Depends on the class mostly. some moves are safer than others, so obviously people will prefer using them instead of unsafe ones, that's just how fighting games work. if you want meta where zerker can safely do his full heavy combo - this is not it. most of the moves are situational.

Parry is still the meta sadly.
I too quitted duels is really too boring.
Maybe try the 4v4 modes (avoiding the 1v1) or play versus bots, can be still fun sometimes since bots rarely parry (assassins level 3 bot deflect a lot tho).

Duels are my favorite mode personally, they can get really intense. just pure 1v1, no revenge and feats bullshiet. Brawls are not bad either, the rest of the modes I play just to complete the orders mostly. after playing duels for a longer time, you learn how to counter opponents who parry a lot quite easily.

Nah man try a 1v1 tournament, watching your opponent for 5 min while both fish for parry is not very funny.
If you still think you can deals with parry is because you did not face good players yet.

yeah the main problem with for honor is that is all boils down to parry and GB now.

game was so much fun back in the alpha/beta. the current meta became a thing. and you could use your whole moveset.
