Cool Idea: Being able to apply your faction's effects to your non-faction characters | Forums

First off I would like to thank you folks at Ubi for helping create such a unique game, I feel like that doesnt get said enough on the forums. Although all the criticism does show how much people care about the game, I feel like you guys dont get enough simple thank you's.

Anyway, something I think would be very cool would be the ability to apply your Faction's effects to your non-faction characters. For example, being able to apply the cherry blossom emote, neutral, and execution effects to characters in the Knight and Viking faction if you are a member of the Samurai Faction.

I feel like faction choice doesnt offer enough ways of representing your choice beyond just emblem shape, and I feel like this would be a cool way for a player to broadcast what faction they are a part of without impacting gameplay. There are tons of players in each faction that main a non-faction character, and this would be a neat option to show the other players that even though you play a Viking, you are fighting for the Knight faction. Plus, think of a samurai with flame wings or a knight struck by lightning. That is AWESOME!

Furthermore, it would incentivize more players to care about the effect system and add additional significance to seeing another character use a particular effect. There are plenty of people out there that simply dont care about the effect system because they cant get the effect they want for the character they main, and that feel left out as a result. There are plenty of other people who arent interested because it doesnt currently say much about their character to other players beyond demonstrating that they worked really hard or payed money to get an effect. And its worth noting that many players that joined a faction because of that faction's aesthetic and ideas but were drawn to another character's gameplay dont currently have an option to represent their faction in a visual way, especially if they are part of a clan or friend group that are all part of the same faction, but gravitated to non-faction characters. This resolves all of these issues and lets players feel like their decision means something and gives them something to work for and create a sense of unity and pride among players, not just in the opening where people can see their emblem, but in actual gameplay itself.

I hope you strongly consider this suggestion because its something that I feel would make a lot of people excited.

Additionally, remember if you are a player reading this to leave a comment showing your support if you want to see it implemented. You guys are why the game exists and the developers want to spend their limited time making the changes that the most of their customers want to see.

cool idea how about this you should be able to use the armour for your faction on any character. can you imagine a big hairy viking in some samurai armour or even better a samurai in some viking armour LOL

I wish they would add where you can put your emblem on any piece. Why have the option to have symbols on all gear but only 1 can have your custom emblem.
