Please! I would love to turn these guys off; although I don't mind their bantering, I know many players can't stand it, along with the fact that these guys just run around all over the place with no rhyme or reason, standing right next to enemies and not killing them, sprinting straight into your line of fire, and repeatedly glitching and getting caught or hung up on some feature of the environment etc.
I would love to just opt out of having some NPCs following me around blowing my cover, not engaging when it could stop the team from becoming compromised in an operation, and just the general annoyance.
Let us LONE WOLF this!
Honestly I really think the AI should have had some more customization. If your going to do an RPG stylization for a shooter do it right. A few things needed are difficulty balancing for "going loud" as this is one of the main times AI really shine. There not to bad if you boss them around but what am I your CO? Hell no we are all ghosts and you should be capable of taking action based of the situation. Ps the difficulty has a tendency to sky rocket with only two people unless your rather experienced in which case # don't mean a thing. Tbh Bots need more options. Add them in to co op so people can learn the game without having someone carrying and give people the option to ditch them if there on there own.
What happened to always having 4 ghosts? Ubisoft said many times before launch you would always have 4 ghosts. If you have one friend join you, two AI teammates would join you. That would be great to have a full team option. And be able to assign the AI teammates to follow and be commanded by person of our choice.
I was in an indoor cqc situation with enemies alerted in a two-storey building, and I was on the top floor, trying to push downstairs.
I looked down the stairs, saw one AI teammate standing on the ground floor at the staircase end, not shooting and not being shot, so I thought "ok, not sure whether the ground floor is clear, but I am sure I will not getting shot once I reached the ground floor via stairs." So I walked down the stairs, and two enemies just charged me from the ground floor via stairs, pushing my teammate, who was looking at the enemies but not reacting, out of their way in the process, and shot me down as I was surprised.
So, yea, can we turn off those useless teammates? Or can dev team please make some better AI?
For the love of all that is holy, no way. I love that they get lost. All they are good for is for going loud when you don't care about stealth.Originally Posted by smsdvd Go to original post
Other than that they are pointless.
I have been killed too many times by an enemy standing right next to my AI teammates.
Better to just burn them alive in a bus and do missions solo, at least then you don't have the false sense of security with four bozos on your six...
Edit: knee jerk reaction. Mandatory, no. Choice? Yes.
