Just noticed what may be the cause of the soft feint hitching; my character acts like he's shifting to high stance, when I am absolutely only switching between left and right heavies. With lights, he looks like he's pausing to think if he should go left or right, lol.
Another thing...with SFing left or right, the resulting attack plays out the animation that is *only* performed after a guard break. GB specific attacks/animations are playing out in circumstances in which they shouldn't be able too...man, this **** is even messier than I first thought.
It definitely works after one stance switch. I was doing it with Nobushi and she has a very slow stance switch as well. It wasn't consistent but I could definitely do it like 3 out of 10 times in some cases.Originally Posted by Felis_Menari Go to original post
One last observation in my triple post here (sorry, editing auto deletes posts on this forum when posting on my phone). It seems that the only reason soft feinting is possible is because of the input window still being open during the first stance switch (meaning the initial attack input hasn't been registered yet); the stance indicator is still white. This may be why soft feinting can only be done with basic attacks, since the indicator remains black during combos. If the devs can lock the input window as soon as an attack was entered, then we may have a shot at killing soft feinting, if that's the direction we should go with this.
I tried, but no matter what a single switch just doesn't work for me (just tried it with Nobushi; same story as my Lawbringer). The double switch can work decently often, but the timing is still very strict (you can't do it too fast, or too slow; yeah, that's some supremely scrappy input buffering right there, lol)Originally Posted by MinaX-LorD Go to original post
