*Ranked Mode/Make For Honor great again*

So some of my friends and I have played in the closed alpha, closed beta, open beta, and now the 1.03 of the game on PS4. I have several hours in the game, a prestige 7 kensei; we all have a lot of experience on the game. Most of my friends and I have played competitive fighting games such as the recent Mortal Kombat X on ESL as well as MLG Gamebattles. We know fighting games, and we know this game. We all love For Honor, however we see it going on a downward slope recently.

    1. Revenge mode is completely unnecessary. As well as the fact that gear can be tweaked to exploit this "revenge mode". We can all guess that revenge mode was created for when you are outnumbered, being 3v1ed, etc. However people get revenge after 4 or 5 blocks/hits on a 1v1. It takes the fun, immersion, and skill out of the game. When we first played this game, the first thing we realized was the steep learning curve and high skill ceiling. We need to keep this game a competitive sword fighting game. SWORD fighting game, not shield bashing game, not revenge mode game; sword fighting game. Where you square off with someone and fight, for honor; the title of the game.

    2. Dishonorable fighting is a definite problem with For Honor. It is ironic that the title of the game is "For Honor", yet the game is filled with dishonorable individuals. I understand this cant be stopped, but it definitely can be discouraged. Honorable vs Dishonorable kills are already obviously tracked in some game modes, can we add a punishment of sorts for dishonorable kills? Maybe negative points or something of the sort?

    3. Separating casual players from competitive players is key. I have read that the developers have already said there will be a Ranked mode. I expect it to be very similar to Rainbow Six Siege's ranked mode. We all hope that in this ranked mode, revenge mode will be forced off. Possibly along with gear stats and/or revive. To keep players like myself who enjoy playing a brilliant, unique sword fighting game like For Honor; happy and enjoying themselves. There is nothing more aggravating than playing elimination with a group of 4 to get the duel sort of experience, just to face off with someone who does a 180 to run away and grab a power up before fighting you. Again, the game is titled "For Honor"l can we make it more about having honor possibly?

    4. Valkyrie has recently been buffed as part of a balancing update (1.03). Not sure if it is known yet by the devs or not, but after the update some of her moves can be exploited. Her shield charge attack will drain your stamina, you will fall to the ground while being hit, then before you can get up, she performs the sweeping trip attack; and you are now back again on the ground. No other character can "juggle" you like this, where you can do absolutely nothing to counter it. Just wanted to add that in my little post here.

I really hope someone important who has decision making authority is brought to attention to this post, as we are all passionate about this game and want it to succeed. I appreciate that you guys listen to the community and take things into thought that we say. I just really hope that this post gets the attention of people who can realize what I am trying to say. This game has so, so much potential. It has been great since the alpha, obviously it needs balancing as any game needs these days. However the players determine the way the game will be played. And in it's current state, it is slowly turning into a button mashing, spammy, hack and slash game. Not a skilled, competitive sword fighting game. We need to separate the people who want to rely on guard break spams and revenge, and the people who want to actually sword fight. Looking forward to the changes coming to the game, and once again hope that this post is read by the proper people.

Thank you so much for your hard work and keep it up!

No. Because Devs created this game in that way. They wanted such fights with cheese kills, with ganking and with running. Don't worry though. As soon as ranked goes live you will be separeted from them. Cause they will be winning and their MMR will go up, yours will go down. Usual thing with rankeds, better player got better MMR.
