Sad to see so many experienced Nobushi players agreeing that she's simply too slow to play against good players.

As a fairly new player, (20ish hours on Nobushi PvP) should I redirect my attention towards a more meta class? I've experienced the great suck of being infinitely parried and get generic get good advice, but the reality is most people fighting me do absolutely nothing because they know as soon as I attack they win.

I started to try the Kensei but it feels like it suffers from the same "reactive" playstyle where you get punished for initiating.

I don't like the thought of playing classes that people hate (Orochi, PK) but it feels fruitless to continue to improve on a class that only seems to win against inexperienced players.

I usually advise to play the character you have feelings for but unfortunatelly, the Nobushi is actually a character askin way too much effort for too little reward (almost none, I would say)

Grabbed from the For Honor description of the Nobushi. "Lightest of armors" yet their dodge distance and speed is far inferior than that of the Kensei. I feel like if the dodging numbers, distance and speed, were enhanced, then an aggressive playstyle might be more viable in high skill PVP?? i hope?

Another little thing is the pinpoint accuracy that the Hidden Stance requires?? I am seriously considering cutting a little notch at the bottom of the R analog so the damn Hidden Stance can actually be used. I can see why it might need to be harder to access because it is a very offensive "right stick down" variant to the otherwise mostly defensive "right stick down" moves from other characters. But it is so finicky!! It throws me out of the stance when i havent moved a muscle. I tested it for a long with a Lvl 0 Bot and i believe it is much too hard to get into. Although Hidden Stance is entirely unneeded for an effective Nobushi.

Nobushi has been my main for over 100 hours with a 2.21 k/d in "Duel Modes" alone. I have been able to hold my own very well against high level enemies by playing patiently. "Noobs" are very susceptible to the aggressive playstyle that people tack onto the Nobushi.. So i dont whole heartedly agree that the high level Nobushi is unviable, but she does have some issues that make her playstyle very limited to "poke poke" and parries. Hybrid's are meant to be hard yet i find her the easiest "Hard" character to play, maybe ive just gotten too in-tune with her. High skill PVP isnt meant to be easy.

With such a light pole-arm weapon, i wouldve hoped for at least one feet swipe attack as an initiator(but i can see her also being unable to pull off a feet swipe because of her seemingly small muscle mass), to prevent just spamming the thing with nearly uncounterable combos *cough* Valkyrie spam
uncounterable valk spam? Please do tell...'

She's a lot more fun to play in 4v4 games, because it's pretty much a mess and rarely do you get careful duels. I agree for as difficult as she is to play, you just don't get a lot of benefit out of it. I'd say to get good with nobushi, and a meta hero. Play the nobushi when you just wanna have fun, and meta hero to **** on people who think they're better.

    @Cyb3rR4ptor
Valk has a combo off a parry that will put the enemy at 0 stamina, and do about 2.3 life bars worth of damage. Her knockdowns leads into mega punishes. I actually don't know if her heavy into shield slam is dodge-able without rolling away.

It's not that she's slow against good players.
It's more of her over all match up against the rest of the cast.
She still viable in 1v1 i still use her and do very well. The only times i actually have to rev up my game are against shugoki and shield users. The rest of the cast even with all her flaw she can manage if you play careful and well.

You shouldn't have to severly outplay someone for her to be viable. The character should scale with your skill and performance period

Pretty much, you shouldn't be able to easily dispatch an opponent by dash attacks to stay on disengages, and kill them with spamming lights faster then they can defend. 108 revenge gear is the only saftey net I have to turn it around vs PKs/Orochis on my level

Well actually that's how match up works. Characters don't have all 50/50 odds against each other. Some have positive match ups some have negative match ups.
A simple case in FH i would say that the Nobushi vs Warden match up is 4/6 on Wardens favor. But a Nobushi vs Warlord match up i can easily depict an 2/8 on Warlords favor.

And how this game works stage plays a BIG ROLE. I mean, Nobushi can have a 6/4 advantage on LB but put an edge nearby and that gap can easily become a 5/5.

It would be nice for all character to have a 50/50 chance on each other but, neve in my life had i seen a game where every character has a 50/50 match up against each other.

Well there is a serious issue when certain classes dont really have issues against any other class while other classes struggle against more than 50% of the classes in the game. Not to mention the top pick classes in this game are quite obvious which does prove quite clearly that some classes are a lot better than others. which i believe we all know by now.
